This series is really interesting. I love it. I can't wait to see what else you write. Are you going to bring Buffy back in the present in the next story? Please update soon.

I signed up (finally) so I could leave you a review, that's how much I love your story. You've found a unique way of retelling the "Buffy is an ancient immortal" story that I'm really enjoying. Plus, your use of history is just stunning. Too many times I've read this type of story where the rich history of immortal Buffy is virtually ignored. Thanks for not doing that. I also loved that when you mentioned Alexander the Great was Buffy's son I instantly thought, now wouldn't it be great if Achilles was too, and then bam he was. Although the more you write Dido Buffy the more curious I am of who, and why, did they rewrite her personality. Because although I can see aspects of Buffy in Dido their moral structure is inversed with Dido on the morally ambiguous side. I'm interested in see how this will play out when the two personalities merge after Buffy remembers her past. On a side note if you have any questions regarding Methos personality or how he would behave feel free to drop me note. Your doing a great job with this fic can't wait for the next installment.

That would be Diotima, the witch of Mantinea. Lovely story, quite light-hearted and funny, with a nicely sober end. Poor Joyce, imagine having to live up to that?

did we forget all about julius caesar and cleopatra, and yes why not Sappho....are we hinting that Buffy is polyamourous in her affections??? shall there be any femslash...even from a historical perspective???
anyway...this story is truly fabulous and i love every installment...you have a brilliant imagination and i love the trip thru historical lane that it is taking us on....my only question is that i was wondering how old Joyce is in this fic....she sounded somewhat young (like pre-teen) but then the history that she was talking about is a little more advanced than pre-teenish (yeah ima former teacher, history teacher at that!!!)...that was my only question, so far
like i said, fabulous fic...thanks for sharing....anxious awaiting more....bribes could be offered if it would help ;-D

I estimated Joyce to be about 39 or 40 at the beginning of Season 1, which puts her birth around 1957, give or take a few years. So assume she's in her freshman year of high school, or there abouts.

Just absolutely loving this. It's funny, well-written and really creative. As for Buffy's identity in the time of Aristotle, I'm going with Sappho, given that they were having conversations on the nature of love.

Good guess! I hadn't even considered Sappho... Darn. That would've been excellent fun. I think I'll have to wave my magical author's wand so that Buffy at least spent time on Lesbos with Sappho.
"Your big brother wasn't the only one," said Betsy. "Long before he was consorting with men, I consorted with the quintessential lesbian. Sappho of Lesbos was a beautiful woman. Very attentive and loving. She wrote a poem about me."
Joy choked on her lemonade. "Mom," she whined, "you didn't need to tell me that!"
This whole series is far and away THE BEST Buffy\Highlader crossovers ever written. And that is no easy feat. As there have been quite a few really good ones here at TtH. The amount of potential for future installments is limitless.
I'm giddy at the possible storylines. I REALLY wish the CoA nominations were still open. You would so dominate imho. Your writing and grasp of Buffy thru the ages is just so compelling. No matter the era and the trappings her essence is present.
Needless to say I LOVE this series so much I never want to see it end. :)

Thank you! I can't say that it won't ever end, but I have many plans for it yet. I don't expect to loose interest or inspiration any time soon.

Good GOD, you've got me writing in ALL CAPS. That is the height of my admiration for you and this fic-series. It is so absotively posilutely COOL and fun, and historically entertaining - though I'll have to trust you for the accuracy as most of my history classes bored the snot out of me.
So seriously, love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love LOVE this story/series, etc. Hmm.. question though: is Joyce's real name Joyce or REjoice? It is an interesting question that you have me raising - either would work for me.
Danke
PS: AWESOME! This fic series is AWESOME! Sorry, I just like to exploit any chance to use that adjective. I also like the words enthralling, mesmerizing, enchanting, intriguing, and superb - lucky for me, they all apply!

I'm blushing. ^_^ Thank you for your ardent praise - I will endeavor to live up to it.
Mr. Buffy named their daughter "Rejoice Miranda [not spoiling]" and her nickname is "Joy." When the monks cast the spell, her name becomes "Joyce Summers." More will be explained in later installments. ^_^
