Very nice beginning, with so many possibilities. You've got the DW elements down perfectly. Good footnotes, intriguing glimpse of what promises to be a great backstory, and excellent cameo by the Death of Rats--I look forward[1] to him coming for Scabbers. I guess Harry and Ron [2] completely misunderstand the appropriate use of the Count's notes, and no doubt chaos levels will continue to rise. I don't think the Wizarding world is ready for this Harry [3].
(1) Despite the number of years since an update, there's always hope.
(2) Being only 11, they lack experience in post-Birds-and-Bees occasions.
(3) Not that they ever show signs of being ready for anything outside the normal.

I hear you on endnotes. It's unfortunate that most websites don't support side-notes. They would if web programmers weren't idiots trying to replicate the functionality of paper.
