Sounds to me like a great thing. Who would want to vist the caprica created by RM they were a bunch of morans and idiots who were to stupid to let live. I think it was the only time I ever routed for a cylon.

They did not miss much. :)

Sorry to be nitpicky, but...

...The opportunity was neither "overlooked" nor "missed" because both words imply that the SGC didn't *try*. They did. And there was nothing else they could have done about it, unless they happened to have extra spaceships just hanging around to go scout out every planet with a failed connection. Which they didn't.

Words like "denied" might work better in this context, and imply helplessness rather than incompetence, which would increase the sense of tragedy you said you were going for.

Well written and very tight...now the real challenge would be to write the story where the Stargate works....OK I"m hoping this make sense cause I haven't had enough coffee.
