Victor von Doom has had an on-and-off feud with Reed Richards going back to well before he donned the armor. Both are geniuses; however, both have a nasty tendency toward absent-mindedness. (Not exactly a good thing in Stark/Richards/Doom-class scientists.) In case you forgot, the *first* FF movie actually goes into detail as to why (and how) the feud went into high gear. Both Richards and von Doom bear responsibility for that (radiation shielding is a basic, yet *both* forgot it). Besides, when Doom and Richards met (at Empire State University), Doom was *already* heir to the Latverian throne (which he knew); Reed didn't know that (and Doom didn't tell him - not in either movie or any of the comics - Nick Fury blabbed to Reed about Victor's Latverian Connection). Feuds in the science community can be as vicious and brutal as any feud in sports (I'm talking real-world, not merely Marvel - read *any* of the various publications of the IEEE for proof). Also, other than that, since when has Doom *ever* decided to go after anyone (or any organization) that didn't go after him first? (It's why the relationship between Latveria and S.H.I.E.L.D. - and between Nick Fury and Doom himself - is not as *frosty* as you would think it would be.)
As far as this chapter goes - the screaming is Xander getting the BOHICA by Fate (again). Worse, he can't even blame the Hellmouth.

Great take on the "real family" theme; it's a lot of fun. I haven't read the Princess Diary books, but I've read at least the first two of the Grand Fenwick books, so I love the geography you've come up with, putting the Duchy next to Latveria. Interesting back-story, too, with the multiple hellmouths and Xander's mother's Russian origin. I'm looking forward to more chapters.

Ahh, so much hilarity-in-waiting! Or is that hilarity-in-the-making?
And why is everybody just walking around town? No cars? Or are cars driven by Doom doomed to destruction? I can't rightfully remember. Now we have Cordelia joining up with His Royal Highness and Silver Sable.... as a BATF agent? I wonder where she got the ID (looking at you, Xander). Looks like Sable is Doom's Cordy, going on the way they banter. Faith may be like Doom's Jessica, hm?
As for Xander's mom, her suit is more revealing than Natasha's? What, it's a string bikini? Because, honestly, Miss Romanov's outfit makes catsuits jealous.
More when you can, please. The hilarity is contagious and you don't often see that with Doom.
BTW, I always hear Doom speaking with James Earl Jones' voice. I wonder why that is...
