Review of chapter "Some Things Never Change" from (Current Donor)Shieldage

Ooh! Hey, you told Ponder you had three "Melody Memories" stories - feel like organizing them into an official site series?

Nice insert into / aftermath of an existing scene in an episode. Good explanation for the special effects :)

Aww... Why they tear it up? What could possibly go wrong? ... ;)
Comments from author:
I actually wrote four Merrie Melodies stories, but one of them is so bad as not to deserve further mention. Look for "Fuddy the Vampire Slayer" here for the one you haven't reviewed yet.

Cute. :) I remember looking over Acme::Buffy some time ago when I was first learning Perl and wondering why in the world anyone would use it. :)

Was this really written back in 2001, or is that a tyop?

In a few places, I think you're going too long without identifying speakers. You've got several people in the scene, and several lines I'm only able to tell it's Tara because she's the only Scooby who says "Mr. Giles." For others without attribution, I'm left wondering.

Comments from author:
No, I wrote it six years ago. I decided to resurrect it. It fell in the middle of my Merrie Melodies stories, between "Fuddy" and "Willow's Froggy Evening".

No one should ever use Acme::Buffy, of course. It's just that some Perl programmers have more time than they know what to do with. Consider Damien Conway's Coy or Lingua::Romana::Perligata modules.

I thought the speakers were clear from the context; Tara was identified as pulling the spell book from her purse. When I do a dialog story, I often err by not adding character cues if the characters wouldn't speak them. Perhaps I went too far with that style.
