(About Kirill:) “I hope he gets bit,” she said to no one in particular, somewhat viciously. “Da,” said Nikolai. They looked at each other. Their eyes met (or seemed to meet, he still had those glasses on), and they shared a moment of complete understanding. “He's not that bad, though,” Dawn admitted, scuffing the rail with her boot. “He did get me a car.” “Maybe if he got me a car, I would like him, too,” said Nikolai. Dawn grinned, then suppressed it, then scowled. ~ LOL. Love the stumbling bonding process.

One great turn deserves another--I think this story warrants a sequel (or prequel)! How did Nikolai and Buffy get together while Kirill was already in the picture (and why does Buffy do away with monogamy [not that Nikolai isn't temptation enough, but Kirill doesn't seem like the sharing type])? Inquiring minds want to know! :)

I feel like I missed something on this story. Like who he was, and why Buffy was dating both him and Krill. Is that going to happen later in the Bourne Crossover?
It's always a joy to read your work. You're definitely one of my favorite authors. I just finished watching Eastern Promises, and this nearly nails Kolia. But, I'm not sure about the idea of including this in the the Recruit uni, though. Buffy's always been a serial monogamist, I can't think of once she's dated two guys simultaneously - even when she's just dating and not actually physically involved. It doesn't seem true to me, particularly when considered with her reaction to Kirill. Just my opinion.

Weeeell, I definitely adore this. Wonderful characterizations, great Dawn-voice and the idea of Buffy dating two guys, what what guys!, at once seems to me like it deserves to e fleshed out some more. And that's a hint.
"Not when you hardly ever paid any attention to her anymore anyway.
Not when your sister was being slowly pushed out of your life, squeezed out onto the periphery because there was no room at the center for anyone but your lovers.
Your greedy, selfish, overbearing, oppressive, tyrannical, demanding lovers."
---*snort* Poor Dawn. I loved the "opressive, tyrannical" bit especially.
"When she felt she had gotten back her composure, Dawn cleared her throat. “Well, it's Christmas Eve, Buffy's in Missouri, and she sent her criminal boyfriend to go on our traditional zoo visit in her place. Smells like jewelry.”"
---That is so sweet!
I love that Nikolai and Kirill are fighting over Buffy. I would Really like to see how Nikolai initiated contact with Buffy, please.
Oh, Dawn. I like how she is portrayed in these little snippets. All huffy about Buffy, but actually understanding when push comes to shove.
"If she had to get used to Buffy's new and unconventional lifestyle, then by Santa, so did Giles." ---That's right, by Santa!
