Review:
Pretty neat story. Simple yet entertaining while keeping the characters within their personalities.
Also really liked this 'closure' you gave Rose and the Doctor towards the end.
Also, Daniel eh? :)
Comments from author:
I liked the narrative symmetry. Glad you enjoyed the story.

LOVE the idea of Rose Tyler involved with an alternate universe version of Daniel Jackson who works for Torchwood!

Plus, the Doctor's solution to the Replicator threat (including Jack's recognition of it as the "Bugs Bunny in drag" scenario) was priceless!

Review:
Ah...

EXCELLENT bit of work, to say the least.

The Doctor, Buffy, and SG-1 in the same room, kicking Replicator ass while simultaneously changing everything about them as a species? What is NOT cool about that?

Plus, of course, the parts where the Doctor and Buffy told Kinsey and Simmons where they could stick it were BRILLIANT; those characters really are living proof of the idea that there can be people you love to hate.

Seriously, my only regret on that front is that Colonel Maybourne didn't show up either; I have to wonder how the Doctor and Buffy would have responded to HIM hanging around...

Oh, and your idea for HOW the Doctor dealt with the Replicators was a PERFECT example of what makes the Doctor such a great character; where others would just try and feed the Replicators a self-destruct program, the Doctor decided to reprogram them to be a bit more... self-contained (Assuming I understood his explanation right, the 'Reproducer' might go on to allow the Replicators to develop the ability to continue and expand by THEMSELVES rather than assimilating others, right?)

Wasn't sure about the bit with Rose at the end, but that's just me; I liked her as a CHARACTER, but I just never thought she WORKED as the Doctor's love interest (One reason I like Buffy; she's a lot more independent than Rose was, in my opinion)

Keep up the good work!
Comments from author:
I really enjoy your reviews: it's nice to have very specific notes on what people liked and disliked. Not that I mind general compliments or anything, but details are also good.

I wanted the Doctor's solution to be not just characteristic of him, but even more so of him after having been in a relationship with Buffy for several years. He's much more comfortable with sexuality in general at this point, and to have an alternative to genocide would be very appealing. The Reproducers will be much less aggressive towards others, now that they have to devote a lot of time to wooing each other, and be no more or less destructive than any other species out there. (Perhaps the Doctor even programmed love in there, it would be the sort of thing I wouldn't put past this version of him.)

Maybourne simply didn't fit in with the timeline, and Kinsey was only there based on fan-request, but I'm glad you enjoyed the scenes. They felt a bit obligatory to me: there was no way the NID was going to let this all lie, but I wasn't really excited about the Doctor smacking them down. Still, I did like his, "Have you committed genocide?" line. I like Scary!Doctor, and don't get to write him nearly often enough.

Most people have really reacted well to the Rose bit. As far as I'm concerned, I don't know that the Buffy-Doctor relationship would have worked out quite as well if he hadn't met, and lost, Rose first. Also, Buffy had run in with Angel and chosen the Doctor over him back during "Another Side," and I felt that the Doctor deserved his own moment of closure. (Which is why he says "I love you" to Buffy afterwards. I'm not sure if it's clear, but that's the first time he's ever initiated that exchange with her, which is why she's so surprised by it. It's a big step in their relationship.) Now they're both truly committed to this relationship, and they can move on without ghosts of past loves haunting them.

I can't wait to hear your reviews of the rest of the (unfinished, sorry!) stories.

Hey, thanks for the explanation! I just re-read this one, and I still love it. You've got all of the characters and their interactions pegged! Thanks for sharing! love xx Shezzi...btw did you throw open the sandpit for others to come in and play? cos I have this inkling of an idea regarding a firefly fic...or did I just imagine that?
Comments from author:
No problem!

I did indeed throw this sandbox open. The relevant challenge is 3192. Having an answer to it would fill me with squee. =)

Review:
Hi! I was just reading this over on Teaspoon, but got bored while they were deciding whether or not to validate chapter 4. So, I googled the title on the off chance and ended up here.

On to the story: it's great and manages to combine some of the best bits of what (at various points of my life) have been my favourite series. I never usually read crossovers because of how often characters go OOC, but this was definitely one of the best I have read. Thanks for sharing!
Comments from author:
I love crossovers, as you can tell by my list of fics, and I try to write them in character as much as possible, because OOC drives me nuts too. Hope I can convert you: there really are a lot of great crossover fics out there, you just have to look. Thanks for the compliment, I really appreciate it. This story was tons of fun to write, and I hope to get the rest of it through the Teaspoon mods soon.

Good reconcilliation. And Rose gets her world's Daniel Jackson. Cool.
Comments from author:
Yeah, and I had no idea that was going to happen until it appeared on the screen. I swear sometimes I just get to read it first. Thanks for reviewing!

Review:
The King and Queen of time and space. Kinda like it. And I'm glad they have a sex life, too.
Comments from author:
The Queen bit is an allusion to their banter about chess while fencing during "Another Side of the Sky," but I never thought of it that way. Huh.

Buffy kind of decided that she wanted him, and he figured out afterwards that he did, in fact want her. I just liked the idea of inverting the "guy pursues girl" standard seduction. Thanks for the review.

Well, at least she's in a world that has diet Doctor Pepper! Interesting plot stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Comments from author:
And I hate the stuff, but it just seemed right for Buffy. Yeah, a plot driven story from me, that's a new and novel twist. Thanks for reviewing.

Review:
How wonderful was that? Very. Your characterization of both Buffy and The Doctor together is flawless. Really. You captured the best parts of Buffy. Actually, you did a great job with all of the characters. I was captivated. I should be doing something productive, but I had to read this instead.
Comments from author:
Hey, fic reading is productive. It makes me happier, and when I'm happier, I do better work. Anyway, I'm really happy that you're enjoying this series, and that you liked this fic (which, stylistically, is much closer to "Hellmouth High" than it is to its companions in the Tempus Frangit series, at least, that's how it feels to me). Thanks for the character compliments, that's always my biggest goal, and thanks for reading.

That was fun. I'm afraid I don't know Stargate at all, so I can't comment on characterizations or anything like that. All I can say is that it was fun to read.
Comments from author:
It was fun to write too. It sort of felt like I was writing a comic book script, if that makes sense. Thanks for branching into a new fandom for me, and for your consistent support.
