Review of chapter "Chapter One: There's No Place Like Home" from Dragonwolftiger
OK, not a bad beginning. I like her attitude. You pulled the gods off perfectly.

Hmm, while some of it looks good I don't think Mithros is in Character
also you can either be a shang or a knight not both
you can be a shang and a mage if you are really lucky, even if it isn't commonly done
and you can most definitely be a knight and mage - at least since somewhere around the second or third year of Alanna's training as a knight ...
though if I get the timing right you cannot get a girl to be trained as a knight if she is no noble
and your sarah is too old to be trained as a shang
the gods know that, so they might say trained in the fighting styles of shang and knight, but not trained as shang or knight which are both very specified positions in the society of that world
also the goddess stopped talking to Alanna in person before John married Thayet

Well, I think your sister has done an excellent job so far. I've read all of the books that deal with the Tortall world....the Immortals series and the two about Alanna's daughter are my favorite. I really hope your sister will write more, and that you'd put it up for her. tell her to keep it up and i hope to see more soon!!
