Very glad to see a new chapter of this, but was there a reason for moving the Stargate out of Cheyenne Mountain and all the way to Antarctica, just for the embarkation of the Atlantis expedition? In the show, the Atlantis expedition went through the Stargate (by then the only Stargate remaining on earth, after Anubis' weapon blew up the other one at the beginning of season 6) at the SGC in Colorado.
[update: There were two Stargates on earth -- the original found at Giza, and the 'older' gate accidentally found by O'Neill and Carter in Antarctica. SG1 used Asgard beaming tech to get the SGC/Giza stargate onto Thor's Replicator-infested ship and escape, just before the ship burned up in earth's atmosphere, after which the SGC had the Antarctica gate brought out of storage for continued use. The Russians found the Giza gate at the bottom of the ocean among some wreckage and started using it, but finally were convinced to stop and participate in the SGC program. When Anubis turned earth's stargate into a giant bomb in early season 6, it was the Antarctica gate that Jack O'Neill had to launch into hyper-space to save the earth. After that, they had to 'borrow' the Giza gate back from the Russians, but the gate was never moved back to Antarctica, much less the super-computers at the SGC needed in order to dial out without a DHD. The SGA premiere episode you mention just didn't show the travelling back from Antarctica for the embarkation from the SGC gateroom, but that's the only place that the Stargate was used, aside from the Russian program and a brief rogue-NID operation using the second gate when it was still supposed to be in storage.]

The embarkation to Atlantis was from Antarctica, not Colorado. I know the Stargate at SGC was blown up, and I don't really remember why or how they got another stargate. I re-watched Rising just to double check. - D

Looks great so far! Although, I have to question the probability of Buffy ever letting her sister move away to another galaxy with the possibility of no return, even if she is with Faith. Update again soon, please!
