You had me until the end. I was confused about Buffy's thanking the doctor when the doctor hadn't actually done what she'd asked. The only thing I can think of was that Dawn's argument had actually worked, but the story doesn't make it clear to me.

Hmmmm...very good up to the last few lines. I'm waiting for the punchline and...and...nothing. Bit of a disappointment.

On the plus side it was well written with no glaring errors, it just fell a bit flat for me at the end.
