You know, I had a thought while I was reading this. This story is set up just like a classic tragedy, in the fact that everything starts off awful and ends up just swell. Hehe. Well, thanks for writing this, bye for now.

This entire series was a very interesting idea. It was, how to say it, a very... um, realistic I guess, look at this pairing. Well, thanks for writing this, bye for now.

Review:
When it comes to family -- real family -- you learn to accept the unacceptable. You learn to look past prejudices, fears, and doubts. You learn to forgive. It's what we did with Will after she almost ended the world, and it's what they did with Sam after years of deceit.

good summary of whole fic :-)

Review:
If I didn’t think she would cause an earthquake if I ignored her, I probably wouldn’t turn around.

figures

I'm going to spend the rest of my life with Miss Piggy as my one true love.

oh please! yes! that would be lovely!

"So you're telling me that there are spells that can do that? Force people to tell you something against their will?"
She nods. "There are spells for almost everything....She's not under a spell, Colonel O'Neill."
Why? Why am I always surrounded by intelligent people? How the hell did she know what I was thinking?

lol - because he's projecting.

"If I had Sam under my spell she would not have left my bed four years ago. She would have left the SGC and lived out the rest of her life as my dutiful wife. She would have told all of you the truth immediately, and if any of you didn't like it, then I would have put you all under my spell as well. Why wouldn't I? You can do that with magic, control people, make them forget fights. Make things easier. But she didn't tell you. She didn't put me first. You were her first priority, the most important thing in her life. She didn't tell you because what we had wasn't as important as what she had with you!"

Brilliant!

There are tears and agony in her eyes and I see for the first time what loving Carter has done to her.
I see fear and pain. Most of all, I see doubt.
She doubts Carter's commitment, her feelings… all because she didn't tell us about her.

He gets it. Finally he gets his head out of his arse and gets it.

And now Willow will have to repeat all of this with the other untrusting fool control freak, Jacob.

"If she told you, then what she and I were… What we had -- we have -- would become real. She wasn't ready for it to be real."

Surprised Willow figured that out to a point where she can admit it

the world's most thorough background check.

probably a good think Jack doesnt know Xander knows.

"She loves you. As long as I've known Carter, the most important thing in her life has been her career and the SGC. Actually, I think her career and the SGC were her life. I know it took four years, but she chose you." Over us, I don't add. "She wouldn't have done that if she didn't love you."

he gets partial redemption. on probation, like.

Review:
“If you think for one second we’re going to let you get Sam alone to hound her for information, you’ve got another thing coming.”

Go Dawnie!

...we sure as hell didn’t know she’s not the most emotionally stable person on the planet...

And Jack wonders why Sam had to be convinced to stay in the SGC? With jerks like him around? She should hand in her resignation and tell him to get out of her house.

"They can’t hurt me, physically at least.”
The only people in this room who don’t fear her are the ones who don’t know her.

Good line

Maybe Willow should heal Jack's dodgy knees for a sign

Review:
Why would they want to take the baby from Willow? I open my mouth to ask them, but Jack shakes his head and fixes me with a look that he has used on a million missions. He’s telling me to stay quiet, to not say anything.

Jack is evil

“No one will harm Sam or the baby.”
“I… I know. That’s not what I’m afraid of.” She looks down. “I’m scared of what I’ll do to get them back.”

hadnt thought of that

“That’s all I need to know.” The quake, I notice, subsides ever so slightly. “Whatever your secret is, I don’t care. You’re carrying the child of my best friend.”

cool Danny!

The look I give Jack is the exact same look he gave me only a few minutes ago, though there is a veil of threat behind it.
“Right, Jack?”

v v v v cool Danny! (I bet Dawn now has the biggest crush on Dan this side of the Oort Cloud ever) Stare down the scummy Jacboys, Jackson!

Review of chapter "Damned And Cursed" from lucyferr
Review:
Sam never hurt Will physically it was always emotionally. It wasn’t so much the cancelled dates that bothered me. I hated seeing the hurt in Will’s eyes whenever Sam didn’t show up, but I understood.
What I hated was that Sam didn’t quit the military.

This is good stuff from Dawnie

So when I stood on the front door step, begging Sam to save Willow by breaking up with her… everything changed.
I had never seen someone so devastated in my life.
I’ll never forget the look on Sam’s face when I told her exactly what she was doing to Will, and I’ll never forget the way Sam shook, went pale and panicked at the thought of losing Willow...it took Sam a long time to accept the fact that she was in love with a woman and even longer for her to give up her career shaped security blanket.

So that's what happened! Go Dawnie!

For Sam, it wasn’t all romantic like I pictured in my head. It was life changing and Sam had felt ashamed and alone.

Hadnt thought of that either. Well put.

And the worst part was she didn’t have anyone to talk to. She couldn’t share it with her close friend Daniel

I wonder if Daniel will ever realize how much damage he did to Sam by being friends with Jack? If he could do it again...

I can give you guys a tour of the house! You should see what they’ve done with the baby’s room…”
No! NO! Nonono… I didn’t just say that. I did NOT say that.

And enlightened people can still be idiots. Not in the idiots that angry alpha males (Jack, Jacob) from a militarist patriarchal culture in protect-our-women mode are, but same difference.

Then again, let she who hasnt ever babbled cast the first stone...

Review:
She should have known we would have backed her up.
Yes, even me.
We’ve fought side by side for fourteen years. Did she think that I would throw all that away because she was gay? Christ, she has saved the damn world. She saved my life, Daniel’s, Teal’c’s… just like we saved hers.
Did she think some damn regulation meant more to me than that? Meant more to me than her?

I have no sympathy for Jack whatsoever. Of course Sam couldn't tell him. She knew he had feelingsofsomesort for her, and what red-blooded American male jock is going to react well to being told that 'his girl' isn't holding a candle for him any more and loves another... girl? Hell no, Jack would have raised official hell while in a red rage - and felt guilty for it afterwards when it was too late. Sure, Jack may think *now* that he woulda reacted alright, but he's lying to himself. Carter knows him too well.

Suddenly it doesn’t matter to me that Carter has lied to me for the last three, almost four, years. I don’t give a damn about the secrets and lies or about the life she’s been hiding. I don’t care that she’s no longer Air Force, Sam is a member of my team – she’s more than just a member of my team – and if Willow is hiding something…
I want to know what it is.

And that rather proves it. Now he's going to try and destroy her happiness, under the guise of 'being curious' and 'protecting her'.

Review:
After Tara, I honestly didn’t think Willow would ever love someone that completely again. Not because of what she did after Tara’s death, but because I didn’t think anyone could be that lucky twice. Buffy never loved anyone the way she loved Angel, I never loved anyone the way I loved Anya, and Will… she loved Tara more than she loved anything.
And it scared the hell out of me, still does, that she loves Sam more.

There's an angle that I would never have thought of...

But the woman standing a few feet away from me – still saluting – is the opposite of that, or at least appears to be. She’s nothing like the woman I pictured in my mind. The woman – almost girl – I’m looking at is any but.
She’s terrified.

good desc of jacob's thoughts... probably a good thing Mark isnt here...

Review:
Before now, Willow truly believed she didn’t deserve anything more than what Samantha was giving her, and it frustrated us all greatly to see Willow suffer like she did. Actually, it was heart breaking. I’m just glad Buffy wasn’t alive to see it. I seriously doubt the Slayer would allow Willow to endure such heartache.
Dawn says that stopping Xander from saying something to Samantha was hard enough.

Loved Giles' thoughts about Willow's suffering because Sam didnt quit the homophobic military.

I hope Obama et al take down DADT.

Would be cool if Thor et al found a way to combine Sam's & Will's DNA in baby #2. Sure, Xander's sperm is alright, but ...

I've just finished reading this series and I have to say that I'm impressed by the depth of emotion you expressed with each character. You could really get inside their heads, get a genuine feel for how they looked at the world and why they protected Willow. Oh, and I loved the term 'Sunnydalians'. :)
Comments from author:
Thank you! I do love this story, too. Behind Willow and Daniel, Willow and Sam is my second favourite Stargate pairing.

Hmmm... Now I want to write a sequel or something of the like. :D

Loved the whole series. A heart wrenching and heart warming story that had me all tense and stressed out wondering if it would all turn out all right. I really felt the panic right before Willow had her earth shaking freak out.

Great stuff!
