Just found this; I was pointed your way by a recommendation for Tabula Avatar.
I agree with you about Season Six...mostly. But while Buffy's death accelerated Willow's downward spiral, it didn't create the issues that led to it. Dark Willow remains a possibility. And as supernature probably abhors a vacuum as much as nature does, something else would probably rear its ugly head in the meantime. Perhaps Rack would start something.
Not that I'm clamoring for a sequel; the story could go practically anywhere from here, so it really makes a good place to stop. Just tossing in my two cents, that's all.
Kudos on a clever title BTW.

I could certainly come up with a sequel if I tried but it would have to feature an almost totally original plot. I usually work on the basis of 'what would happen if...?', starting at some point where a canon event goes slightly differently or someone makes a different decision. With the canon of S6 totally disrupted there is nothing to give me such a starting point. I might possibly one day do a little vignette or two in this 'verse, possibly something fluffy, possibly sad (such as Spike and April, both immortal, dealing with the deaths of Buffy and the other Scoobies), but I might never get around to it.
I've actually only read one other story which had April coming back, and that was part of a "Men in Black" crossover where the main focus was this complicated thing involving time travel and Willow technically being an alien; this one standing on its own really made it singificantly superior to that one.
If nothing else, the parts told from April's perspective managed to present a rather intriguing look at the world from the POV of an AI; still somewhat 'conflicted' between programming and her ability to learn new things, but she's getting there eventually.
And as for the conclusion...
The only thing better than seeing the villains lose is seeing them lose in a humiliating manner, and this definitely met that category; after all the trouble Glory's caused them, she just casually gets taken out by a robot that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time (From Glory/Ben's perspective, obviously; it was the right place at the RIGHT time as far as the Scoobies were concerned).
So... any chance of a sequel?
If nothing else, it might be interesting seeing how Warren reacts to going up against April when he forms the Trio in the 'new' Season Six...

There won't be a sequel. The changes made will probably make subsequent seasons rather boring. As Warren at least partially owned up to Katrina in advance, and as April's attack on Katrina never took place, there's a good chance that he'll be able to patch up the quarrel and stay with her. Warren with Katrina is harmless; it was losing her that sent him off on the path that led to murder. No Trio, therefore, and so Season 6 will have only Monster-of-the-Week villains. Sweet's probably the most dangerous thing they'll face - and as Buffy didn't die, and so there was no resurrection and no Torn From Hea....ven issues, even OMWF probably wouldn't be all that interesting.
The appearance of the First Evil was said by Beljoxa's Eye to be triggered by Buffy's resurrection and its effect on the Slayer line. I'm not sure I believe that - I think that Spike's getting a soul was probably the real trigger - but, as neither event will have taken place, there will be no First and no Caleb. Which leaves Season 7 with Monsters-of-the Week and Robin Wood as the only threats; not enough to provide the meat for a worthwhile story.

This was cute- in a twisted way of course, as all things cute on the Hellmouth should be. I like the idea of april being taken care of (and the more sympathetic Warren), good job with the Three laws. Not that it really requires a follow up but I'd be curious to see how things were a few years on, with the major alterations made here. Thanks for this!

I think all future developments of this 'verse would be pretty boring; no dead Buffy to be resurrected so no First Evil, no twisted Spike/Buffy relationship in S6, Warren probably still with Katrina so no Nerd Trio evil-doing, no Dark Willow - just Happily Ever Afters for everybody (unless Xander still walks out on the wedding).

I'm giggling while I shudder... That's a completely unexpected match. And one of the more fun "rare pairs" I've ever come across. Thank you for broadening my world view.

I like rare pairings. There are several (Joyce/Olaf, Giles/Ilona Costa Bianchi, Wesley/Glory, Oz/Kennedy, and this April/Spike) that I'm pretty sure that I'm the only person in the fandom ever to have thought of.
Very nice. I always liked April, so it's good to see her survive. And your version of Spike is better than the show's but not really out of line with canon, just different. The only really AU element is that Warren isn't a complete and utter scumbag, and that works for me. Hey, anything that keeps Joyce alive works for me, and you did a great job with that. No miracle cure, just a comparatively minor stroke that's a whole lot better than being dead. Beauty, mate.
That was fantabulous and magnificent. I want more!
Danke

Sorry, I've no plans for a sequel. I'd rather keep it as a one-off. If I continued it there would be a danger that I'd use up ideas that I may need for my WIP 'Came the Thunder' in which the BuffyBot is a major character. I will be posting that here eventually but it's much darker than 'April Come She Will'.

Great story! I really liked how April was salvaged as a character. She got a raw deal on the show. Also, nice work with the Spike interaction--he's still Spike, not a rabid love puppy like he became in the later episodes. Overall, a very fine bit of work. Thanks for sharing.

I am really impressed with not only the idea of this fic, but the detail you put into Warren's nerdspeak. "The Three Laws of Robotics" Hee. Anyone roboty would have read Asimov and it definitely added to the dialogue.

Thank you! I'm at least as big a nerd as Warren, although I can't build anthropomorphic robots and my wife can't make miniature monorails that run on magnets.
