This story is criminally under-reviewed, and I won't stand for it any more. Wait a second while I sit down.
Ahem. I just wanted to say that randomly finding this story made my day, and I wish it was completed. As an added bonus, you've encouraged me to hunt for Goulart's books -- I haven't been taken with the small amount of his SF that I've read, but it strikes me that his style would suit Groucho a lot better. I'm not sure all your Grouchoisms work, but more than enough of them do to have had me giggling. Thank you!

OK, that was fun. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it so much. I'm looking forward to chapt 2. One point - a dressing room would have At Least one wide full-length mirror (to check one's costume,) as well as a long, well-lit mirror for applying makeup, arranged for the actor to be able to see his entire body at once. There could well be three or even more. If the room is set up by people who know their job, there probably aren't many places that aren't in view. Angel will have to be Very Careful to keep anyone from noticing that he doesn't have a reflection.
Very entertaining start. I'm a little surprised that Groucho seems to be constantly "on", but I haven't read the series this is based on, so I'm assuming that's the way he's written in the books. Looking forward to more.
Comments from author:
He's on about ninety percent of the time in the books -- even when he's trying to solve the crime. There are a few times he's somewhat serious.
He'll get serious at some point during this story as well.
