I really enjoyed reading this peace, very insightful, it brought me closer to seeing Jack as he really is. So there is no doubt in my mind that I would truly love reading Hogwarts Chronicles, so please, please write them :D Pretty please :D
Okay, "The Sap Chronicles" are officially cute. Points for getting Jack to talk about feelings without being out-of-character. And I loved the open-endedness of the mutual "You aren't on my list."

And I have to say, despite my fear of a Jack/Dawn pairing, that last chapter was indefinite enough that I wasn't totally scared for life. In fact, it was kinda cute and believable. But don't tell anyone I said that.
ok more please more more more you must get dawn and jack together I demand it it must be so!!!!!!!!!!! just kidding love the whole sap series and I'm looking forward to anything else you right.
*hugs&kisses*

Love this series and I think you have got mini=Jack's voice just right. He was Jack's clone until he became aware he was Jack's clone. Then he became an individual in his own right, but with the memories and the "nature" of Jack. From that point on, he experiences what happens as a separate person, who feels, thinks and reacts to the events just as Jack would have, but changing more and more as he experiences more himself. And I think the first most definite reactions would be the anger at finding out he is a clone and to the hurt and abandonment he had to feel when SG1 dumped him in high school.
I know this is not worded so well, but I really like this series.
Thanks, BB

Jack saying he could never trust Buffy with anything except dawn, then basically saying Buffy would let everyone else die to save Dawn is a misperception and a big one. Buffy would try and save them all= and I think she has reached the point where she could allow Dawn to die to prevent an apocalypse. Jack has his blind spots and this is a big one- also the part where he considers Kit and Carlos "HIS" is an indication of the bigger problem. He has never gotten over the being dumped part by SG-1, and also has never been able to accept what he is- clone of someone= and as such he has no RIGHT to feel that way. He is NOT Jack O'Neill and has no real reason to expect anything from that area.
Comments from author:
Thank you for your feedback. I've been waiting for someone to make this point!
Jack's comments are not a misconception, nor is it an ommission on my part. If the fic had been set after Chosen and Jack had made those comments then I would say you are completely right (I'd already considered this very point prior to writing the scene). However, this fic is set after Lessons (and the First Evil Arc never occurred) and the prior to that Buffy's behaviour had proven that she would choose Dawn first (see the Gift - Buffy stated she would stop the others if they tried to kill Dawn, even though killing her would close the portal). At this point of the evolution of Buffy's character her actions have only indicated that Dawn comes first above all others. Also, and the part you're missing, is that this is JACK'S opinion and one he's based on experience with Buffy... he's not incorrect in what he is saying.
And of course Jack has issues about being a clone, being dumped by SG-1 and their treatment of him post cloning. Why wouldn't he? He's human, he has emotions and, of course, he has blind spots. It's what make him interesting. It would be incredibly boring writing about Jack if he didn't have issues.
As for whether he has a right to feel the way he feels... that's irrelevant. What do 'rights' have to do with someone feeling betrayed? He feels the way he feels. Whether or not he is entitled to feel that way is not something Jack even considers (see above). Although, there are some events outside of what happened in FB that Jack is also using to make his judgement.

I greatly enjoyed the Sap Chronicles! I love all the things Jack is going to teach Kit and Carlos ;) And thank you so much for throwing me a bone in the last chapter by leaving Dawn and Jack off of each other's "will never be with" lists.
Writing a Hogwarts Chronicles would be a wonderful idea!
