Review of chapter "Chapter 22" from maxthehobbit
Review:
Thanks for the interesting bit of trivia in the previous review, I never knew that and haven't seen all the episodes, seems no reruns on my cable TV. Now I understand why there are so many writers that use different last names for her (Faith).

I just finished reading this story which is unusual for me because I tend to stay away from rewrites, but I liked this one although I have some additional comments.

I would have executed the French watcher for what he did, he knowingly killed people, a lot of them. Murderers shouldn't be allowed to live.

I also can't see Buffy falling for Harry since her past loves have been with Angel, Spike and Reilly, also that scumbag she whomped with a club in the Beer Bad episode, can't remember his name, only say the episode once. Point is they were all manly type men while Harry is a dorky looking wimpy guy, skinny with glasses, nearly the exact opposite of her other loves.

But all-in-all this was very creative, the whole series not just this story. I think the second one was the best, but the others are well worth the time to read.

Thanks for posting the series and sharing these great stories. I'm going to see if you've written other Buffy stories since I know what I like and I like your writing. Thanks again.
Comments from author:
Thankfully for Monsieur Bertrone, as Harry Potter canon has proven, the officials in the wizarding world have a different opinion on what should happen to murderers.

As for the Buffy and Harry romance - from experience I can state that having a type doesn't guarantee what you end up with in life. I happened to marry someone who is in no way my usual type, and it was the best decision I ever made. Angel, Spike, Riley, Parker - you argue that all of these men were very 'manly' types. Harry, on the other hand, is still more boy than man. Then again, the timeframe of this story shows that Buffy is still more girl than woman at this point. And while Angel was mysterious, and dangerous, and a romantic interest from the start, Harry was a friend first - someone who was open, kind, and friendly. There was a future with Harry, and Buffy finally realized that was what she wanted. It just took her a while.

Hmm. It took me a while to understand what was going on. Finally I figured it out. The name is Faith LeHane, not Faith Evans. Where did Evans come from?
Comments from author:
If you'll notice, this fic was completed back in 2003. Joss Whedon only officially gave Faith the last name of Lehane in the season 8 comics which were published well after this fic. :)

Either way, thank you for all of the previous reviews, and I hope you enjoy the fic!

I enjoyed your trilogy for the most part, but personally I would have been a fan of either Harry or Buffy dying. I know a bitter sweet happy ending works, but I personally would have preferred a slightly darker one. It is all about sacrifice after all.
Comments from author:
*grins* I think you're one of my rare reviewers that would prefer a less happily ever after. In either case, I thank you for the reviews for the trilogy. I'm glad that you enjoyed them overall. :)

Review:
Wow. That was like a blood-bath towards the end! For a moment I thought you were going to finish them all off! I'm glad you didn't though, I'm very pleased with the ending.

I can't believe you let The Terrible Twins get away! It was a hard call though, it crossed ~my~ mind that she should kill them but I'm happy Buffy didn't. That's one of the great things about her IMO, she doesn't kill anyone who she considers an innocent or harmless whether they have a soul or not. Some people might consider her foolish but I would call her compassionate.

I loved Celeste and Bertrone, I imagine it must have been hard writing another Slayer/Watcher relationship that was different to what we've seen before. It was great Celeste had her own personality that was different to Buffy and Faith's, she reminded me of Kendra a little being so bookish, I think she definitely read The Slayer Handbook! And as for Bertrone I liked him so much, but what he did.... I do have some sympathy for him, but jail time is probably the right decision. Poor misguided B'one. :(

Harry & Buffy are so sweet together, they really provided some of the lighter moment's sprinkled through the story. Especially during The Great Scoobie Cull, I was going from "Aahh.." to "Aarrgghh!" lol

Which story do I like best? Hmm...it's a tough one, I would say it's probably a toss-up between RWD & SPA. But each add's something to the series as a whole.

Phew! I went on a while there, but an epic review for an epic series!

Congratulations on this great piece of writing, I'm looking forward to reading your other stories.
Comments from author:
What a fantastic review! A perfect treat for my Monday, and I thank you for it!

Yes, it really was a blood-bath towards the end. *grins* Looking back on my stories, I'm starting to see a trend. Violence and drama. And angst - can't forget the angst. But I'm glad that you enjoyed the blood-bath, and even more delighted that the story made you think as it did. The moral quandries that Buffy faces in her world on a day to day basis have always intrigued me. In the beginning, she very much saw the world in black and white, and later in the series she became introduced to the shades of gray - and somehow through it all she tried her best to hang onto her own sense of right and wrong.

It couldn't have been easy.

I'm also delighted to hear that you enjoyed the story's OCs of Celeste and Bertrone. They were fun to right - even to their own tragic ends.

Thank you, sincerely, for this wonderful review and I'm delighted that it entertained you. *grins* I guess I may have done something right, after all. Thank you again!

I found this story when looking to see if you have written anything else after noticing an update to your Buffy/Jack BTVS/SG1 story. I have never been able to get into the Potter books but you made it all just great and I have read all three part from beginning to end. Well worth the time spent. Can you carry on with the Stargate crossover soon?
Comments from author:
LOL - I'm glad that you enjoyed the ToF trilogy, and yes, I'm hard at work on the next installment of GP!

Thanks for the review!

Review of chapter "Chapter 22" from purrfus
Review:
This story has not received nearly the amount of attention it should have. It is possible the Trilogy notice in the summary scared some folks off, and it is also possible that the chapters were loaded so quickly people didn't have enough time to find the story. Once a story falls off the latest page some people just don't go looking.

Sirius's parts were great. I would have liked to have seen more of Snape, Giles, and Angelus. I was so mad the little brats got away with it. Granted as weak as they are Glory will probably smash them, but we don't get to see that part. How about, in your spare time you write a ficlet or epilogue smashing the brats?

Review of chapter "Chapter 22" from Keshkreature
Review:
Wow, this story was truly amazing! I have loved your trilogy immensely. I actually put off reading it for a while because I know absolutely nothing about the Pretender plot or it's characters. I do really like Harry Potter though, so I... um... welllll... sorta just started with the second fic, Racing with Destiny. So while I cannot say which of the three is the best, between the last two of them it's sort of like yin and yang. The first (or second really) was Buffy helping Harry, and the last was Harry saving Buffy's day. And they were both uniquely wonderful. I was very sad to see the loss of the Weasley twins, although I do agree with you that it would have been bordering on absurd if none of the Weasleys had perished in the fight against "Moldy Wart." I loved how the other brothers continued on with the joke shop. Buffy and Harry's relationship was splendid. I think you wrote them excellently. Ron's sacrifice for Hermione was devastating. I am SOOO glad that I did not have to be subjected to your evil, evil ways in enduring that cliffie. My extreme sympathies to your followers who were, although not really because they got to enjoy your wonderful fic so much sooner. I liked the way you managed to restore the minds of the lost ones. I was very much hoping that you would, as the scene with Tara and Willow and Glory kept popping into my head. Although as the list of the insane kept growing, I didn't see how you could restore more than one or two of them without it seeming ridiculous. You pulled it off marvelously. I am very glad you wrote this prior to reading OotP, because not worrying about Sirius being dead is such a nice change. Harry having an actual father figure is spiffy. Also, your inclusion of the third Slayer was really cool. I was worried that it would be sorta hokey, but you managed to flesh out her character very well, as well as her difficulties in adapting to slayerhood. Her development was great, and I love how you made her watcher realize how much he loved her, just in time for it to be his biggest downfall. It did seem like the best idea was to keep the Key out of Sunnyhell, and I'm glad that in your fic they tried. You did an excellent job of writing fickle fate and bringing the best laid plans to ruin, just to have the day saved at the last possible moment in the weirdest and most unexpected way. I did think that Xander and Willow would have argued a bit more with Buffy about whether her life was worth trading for Harry's, not to mention all the work of trying to get rid of whatever came through the barrier, things which could kill others before they could be hunted down by the existing slayers. Although that being my only complaint in over 50 huge chapters of writing, is rather insignificant. (Us readers really like it when you get "long-winded" (author's notes, ch 17), BTW.) I'm feeling rather long-winded at the moment though, as the scroll bar gets smaller and smaller. Oh, but I was really surprised when you brought out a FOURTH slayer into the picture, although I think you managed to keep the balance of the whole thing going really well, what with having Buffy in hiding most of the time, and Celeste taken out for a bit while the last one was called. Excellent excellent writing, and I'm sorry I didn't get to review more as you were writing it. I seem to be a couple of years late in that regard. Thanks for the great fic!

Mean? Oh this goes so far beyond mean, it's reaching Joss levels of character torment. Angelus killed Cordy? Faith being all coma-girl again? Harry shot?

And yet I still have no idea how you're gonna end it and tie everything up. That is sure gonna be a doozy...
