Review of chapter "Epilogue" from MarcusSLazarus
Review:
Hoo boy...

Definitely one of the best crossovers between these two genres that I’ve ever read; congratulations.

Bella’s developing thoughts and feelings about the revelation of her new abilities and identity as the Slayer are definitely well-explored, ranging from her shock and fear at the idea that she’s ‘destined’ to be Edward’s mortal enemy and her confusion over how she’s meant to be a match for the Cullens’ ‘type’ of vampire to her breakdown in the shower, culminating in the moment when she fills in the Cullens on her new abilities with that amusing little demonstration.

The subsequent conversations as the two groups learned about the history of the vampires they’ve each lived with over the last few years was definitely interesting, to say nothing of Giles (And technically Emmett’s) explanation about where the ‘Old Ones’ fit into the vampire ‘evolutionary chain’ and why they still drink people even if they have their souls.

The subsequent training for the confrontation with the Volturi was also well-presented, particularly with Edward being forced to face his issues regarding his fears for Bella’s safety as she herself insists on taking a more active role in events than what she’s done in the last few vamp-related confrontations she’s had to deal with (Although it was the addition of Bella’s revelation about the First’s role in her near-suicide and the Cullens leaving her life that particularly impressed me at this point; nice way to account for that particular beyond Bella being a bit crazy), and your ideas regarding the Volturi’s past contact with a Slayer and the results of Aro’s twisted little ‘experiment’ added a very interesting new dynamic to the equation.

Plus, of course, the final fight with the Volturi and their demonic army was definitely a dramatic conclusion; after everything we heard about those guys, my main regret about the confrontation in “Breaking Dawn” was that none of the guard actually DIED despite everything negative we’d heard about the Volturi, but you definitely made up for that here (Particularly when Bella tore Jane’s head off with her bare hands; talk about proving that she’s not weak, eh?), even if I still recognise that Buffy’s last-minute contribution was the only reason they survived against those kind of odds.

And as for the last twist...

While I second Bella’s hope that Rosalie gets what she’s looking for- maybe Angel could use his W&H contacts to send her in the right direction in that sequel you mentioned?-, at least it looks like Bella and Edward are going to have SOME kind of normal life now; even if they’ll return to their vampiric family eventually, Edward can finally give Bella what he and Angel always wanted to give the Slayers they love for a WHILE at least...

In the end, my only real PROBLEM with this story is the Dawn/Jacob relationship; while I acknowledge that my low opinion of Jacob as a character didn’t help- at least Edward made an effort to tolerate Jacob’s existence as long as Bella liked him; for all Bella’s talk about how he’s a cheerier character normally, for me, Jacob was defined by his prejudices against all vampires until things changed after Rennesme was born-, the fact remains that Jacob only changed his original thoughts and feelings about vampires and the Cullens simply because he ‘imprinted’ on Dawn, thus leaving him ‘automatically’ inclined to side with her and protect her in subsequent events.

It’s as Dawn herself said, really; Jacob changed his mind because of the imprint and his resulting ‘desire’ to be with Dawn rather than because he learned more about her over time and found her interesting on his OWN, and therefore he only changed FOR her rather than being changed BY her (It’s a subtle distinction, but it’s important; Angel may have been inspired to change by his contact with Buffy, or Temperance Brennan changed because of Seeley Booth- crime drama “Bones”; Brennan’s a forensic anthropologist who consults on cases where bodies are too decomposed for normal identification and Booth’s the agent she regularly works with-, but both Angel and Brennan developed as people because of the LONG-TERM CONSEQUENCES of their contact with Buffy and Booth- Angel didn’t think he deserved a relationship with Buffy and Brennan didn’t think much about that kind of relationship- rather than changing who they were to be with the other), thus making their relationship fundamentally flawed from the beginning (Made even worse by the fact that Dawn herself pointed out why it was flawed; just because she liked what Jacob was becoming doesn’t change the fact that he changed for the wrong reasons).

Still, that issue aside, a great story with some interesting ideas to bring the two worlds and vampire breeds together; keep up the good work!

If you’re taking suggestions, I’d DEFINITELY like to see a scene or two with the Cullens meeting Angel, Spike and Illyria and talking about their respective histories...

Review:
I do love this fic, but the last chapter had too many things left to the imagination. First read, I was absolutely confused.
What exactly happened in the timeleap after the wedding night? Hope there's lots of fics to cover that, because otherwise that huge a blank in between for such a terrific fic is quite wrong.
Relieved that Edward got over his fixation on becoming human and his certainty that he was damned even if he was a good person.
Very, very glad that you had the character do the sensible thing and get brought over instead of endangering everyone by staying human after the extended family had made that many enemies.
Even more pleased that you had Bella then get brought over so that she wouldn't be aging into middle-age and then old age.
And just so damn happy to know there's more coming in other installments, but this one needs the massive timegap at the end filled out so that things make more sense instead of a ton of guesswork. Please? And again, love this fic. Thanks for writing it. :)

Review of chapter "Countdown" from Cutiepie
Review:
OK, I am not a Twilight fan. I haven't read any of the books nor have I seen any of the movies. So, I have no idea what on earth possessed me to even read your story. But you know what? I did, and I like it. You have a good tension level going, I haven't noticed any glaring plot holes, and I'm finding most all of the characters likable.

I still don't understand how anyone as old as the vampires supposedly are can relate to someone like Bella on a romantic level (I didn't get it with Buffy/Angel either) but somehow, you have been able to make me overlook that aspect and just enjoy the action. So, thank you for writing.

What? She's gonna marry him before the battle? Maybe they could have a wiccan ceremony, their wedding night and still leave the 'official' wedding for afterwards.
I imagine Buffy will be making an appearance during the battle against the Volturi, maybe with even more Slayers...I mean, you did say she was gonna make an entrance.
I really like your fic, it's really great. And it's helped me get back into work on my own fic, a WIP where I'm planning on Bella and Faith being really close, almost like sisters...
Oh, one more thing. With the new Council and all that, couldn't they let Charlie into at least some of what's going on? Even if this doesn't happen until after the battle. I mean, he wouldn't be the first human to know, there are the Scoobies, and Joyce knew too, and Cordelia and Fred in LA.
Oh, and I really do hope Xander gets his rocket launcher, or maybe a flame-thrower, I mean, fire is a good weapon against any vampire...

So, now what?

Review:
This chapter is awesome, 'cept for one tiny word placement. A debriefing happens after a confrontation, a briefing happens before. So if they have to get weapons and go to a meeting before the fight, it would be a briefing, not a debriefing.
Comments from author:
Thanks for pointing that out! Sometimes it really s**** not being a native speaker... :) But I changed it now. :)

Review of chapter "Weapon" from MarcusSLazarus
Review:
Not only do we have further intriguing exploration and theories about the Cullen 'class' of vampire in terms of their relationships with conventional demons, but we also have Bella realising that she CAN use her 'shield' as a method of defending more than herself?

This story continues to intrigue me, to say the least...

Just one minor suggestion; after Carlisle's comments about his wish that he could meet another 'Old One', any chance that later chapters will feature what's left of Angel Investigations getting involved in the fight so that we can see how Illyria reacts to the Cullens?
Comments from author:
Mmh... let's see... I think, depending on whether Carlisle and the other Cullens survive the confrontation with the Volturi, a meeting with Illyria might be possible. ^^

An excellent chapter! I surprised no one noticed that Giles is holding back information about Francesca. :-) And I'm hoping this means you'll actually turn Bella in your story. I really want to see how she, as a vampire, reacts to learning that Giles withheld information from her.

Thanks!

I'm really glad that you've decided to pick up this story again. I'd almost forgotten how good it is. I'm hoping that we'll get to see Bella as a vampire in this story. That was one of the big payoffs in Stephanie's Meyer's novels, and with the obstacles in front of them in your story, for me at least, the payoff would be bigger.

Thanks! And I'm looking forward to your next chapter!
