ROTFLMAO ..... Oh. My. Gosh. This was hysterical. I loved it. Thank you so much for sharing this. I can completely see Xander sitting in the middle of the room sharpening an ax in a not-so-subtle hint that Harry had better not hurt Faith. I can also see Faith not bothering to mention any of this to Harry. ::snicker:: Do you plan on having Harry meet the rest of the family? ::grin::

Dear god, I have over 1300 hits. Actually, it's closer to 1400. *faints*
Yes, I'll most likely be continuing. I'm slightly afraid that the reviewers would kidnap and torture me if I didn't continue.
Thanks for reviewing, it means a lot.
...I seem to have a new pattern of one review per hundred hits.

LMAO reading this, since it reminded me of a guy I used to work with a while back, who had three daughters. His wife once told me that he used to sit on the their porch and clean his shotgun when the girls' dates came to pick them up, and he'd smile at them and just nod his head as the guys came by. Of course, you had to see Wilby's smile, to appreciate it. ;-)
And I can also really appreciate the story since I have five younger sisters and my brothers and I kind of had a reputation for being a bit over-protective. ;-)
You really, really, REALLY need to write about Harry meeting with Buffy, Giles, Willow and, of course, the 'normal one,' Dawn.
I wonder, how Dawn feels about being referred that way by Faith? Considering that Faith has to deal with demons and vampires on a daily basis, that kind of makes them a normal part of her life, doesn't it? ;-)
Anyway, great job!

I'm the youngest one in the entire family, and I'm a girl. So all nine older cousins and all of the friends-that-are-pretty-much-family get all overprotective over me.
Thanks for reviewing.

I'd love to see a Buffy scene as was mentioned by previous reviewers, but I'd also love to see a Willow scene with the magic that Harry doesn't recognise, and a Dawn scene for sure. And I mean, hello, an Andrew scene would be so fun, with him making up some song about the great Harry Potter who defeats Dark Wizards - maybe he's the only one who knows about any of this stuff and no one can figure out where his info came from. (Maybe he's got a subscription to the Quibbler or something *lol*)
Again, great job, hope you decide to do more!
*Edit* "There is a very thin line between 'hobby' and 'metnal illness'." Glad I could help contribute to your 'problem'. lol

Andrew is my favorite, but I didn't even think of that.
I really have to add more to this, now... Darn reviewers, putting these images in my head that must be put to words.
Seriously, though, thanks for reviewing, and for the ideas.

Do we also get to see B, G, & D 'subtly' threaten him too? If he reacted with consternation and a bit of fear over Xander, I wonder what seeing Buffy throwing knives or pulverizing a gym bag would do; or even Ripper coming out with a bit of dark magic feeling...

This made me laugh. I love the way Xander chooses to threaten Harry and the way he has no idea what their real names are. This was really great, are you thinking about a sequel?
Comments from author:
Glad I could make you laugh! That's actually a surprise to me, people laughing at my fics, I've never really worked with humor before. Usually I'm making people cry...
Yes, I'm thinking about continuing. I wasn't, until all these pesky reviewers started giving me ideas...
Heh-heh. You could, as the backstory, invoke Challenge 3763: Faith goes Harry Hunting.
Say, five or so years ago, they met while she was bad and hired to kill him. Having failed and eventually reformed she came back, Post-Chosen, to apologize, which is when they hooked up, setting the ground for this fic ;)
Kinda puts an extra ironic spin on Xander deciding to try and protect her from him, especially when the Challenge has her explain about Harry with the line "When we first met I wanted to kill him, sometimes it still seems like a good idea" :D
Anyway, your story is cool as it is. Harry's POV is well-delivered and he's appropriately wrapped up in his own concerns. Your writing style flows well and I think you should continue as you easily have enough material for the Buffy portion of the fic :D
Oh yeah, I think that Harry expecting that Faith works at an average girl's school was a good choice on your part. Good way to keep him off-balance and allow him to make weird first impressions on her friends, which is likely something they get a kick out of as they're likely doing this stuff on purpose.

heehee. I like that idea. I didn't really think about backstory, but if I'm going to expand (the reviewers seem to want me to, I'm slightly afraid they might kidnap me if I don't) I probably should.
Ah, I almost forgot how nice it is to get reviews. (I haven't published anything since Half-Blood Prince was new.) The fuzzy feelings! Thanks for reviewing, and especially for being so detailed.

I...can't...stop...laughing!! I love this one-shot, poor Harry! This is actually the first time I've seen this pairing, I think it's cool! It never occurred to me that anyone who dated Faith outside of the Scooby world might not actually know who she was talking about because of her tendency to shorten everyone's names to initials or really short nicknames. Gods and goddesses, if Harry thought Xander was bad, wait'll he meets Buffy! Will you be expanding on this? PLEASE???

I wasn't going to continue, but the hordes of readers may gouge my eyes out if I don't. And they've given me some good ideas. So I probably will.
I can imagine Harry being all smug that he rates a whole syllable instead of just a letter, can't you?

Ah, yes, the axe sharpening is what clinched it for me! Loved it! And you have to do Buffy's part since Harry probably is expecting some Crabbe or Goyle shaped woman!
Comments from author:
I might follow up on this (maybe from the PoV from one of the Scoobies), but I don't have anything planned.
I always pictured Xander sitting right in front of the doorway, sharpening some big weapon whenever a Slayer (or one of the other girls) brought a date home, and just sitting there looking menacing. And Buffy making up all kinds of (creative) threats of what she would do to said date with said weapon.
