Review of chapter "Finality" from Christy

I can't believe I didn't review this story the first time I read it. I love how you write the Merry Gentry universe and how Cordy really seems to fit in with them the way you wrote her, even with it being totally in character. Great job!

Review of chapter "Out For Recess" from BloodOfAReptile
Review:
I'm midway through reading, and I'd like to say I'm loving it so far!

You're an excellent writer and I always enjoy any fic of yours that I read.

I have one /small/ comment for this chapter though - It seems kind of out of character to me that Doyle would use slang like "right off the bat" (towards the end of the chapter, when he's telling her she doesn't need to choose which court right away). It seems much too informal and modern for his tone. Other than that, I'd say you got him dead on! :)

Review of chapter "Finality" from purrfus
Review:
I knew starting this story that it was only 9 chapters, and I knew I was on the 9th one but it still came as an unpleasant surprise when I reached the end. Oh well, no complaints since there is a sequel.

Review:
Have you seen “Isn’t She Wonderful?” with Bette Midler and Nathan Lane? There is a scene where Nathan Lane gives her this elaborate intro – to God – where upon she proceeds to yell at God (a.k.a. in the general direction of the sky) ranting and raving and all. This (. “Alright, you pansy-ass Powers.) reminds me so strongly of that. After all the residents of the Buffyverse have been through, it still amuses me how absolutely unimpressed they are, especially QueenC, with higher beings. I am sitting here grinning madly thinking of pissed off, glowing Cordy getting in Skip’s face with some serious chest-poking, arm-waving fury. Have I mentioned how much I love Cordy recently? >>An unseen wind ruffled her hair and she frowned. “No Dennis, you can’t come. You’re tied to the house, remember?” The wind only intensified and the ghost fogged up the mirror, tracing with an unseen hand, ‘Don’t Go!’ – And now you are just upsetting me. Of course, I think I remember a bit of where this is going so I won’t cry too much. Let the adventure begin. Great job here explaining the MGverse without boring those of us familiar with it to tears. This is a tightly conceived plot – everything makes sense with what we know of both worlds and yet has so much space to explore! I am extremely jealous how darn good this is! And how funny! Bravo!!! ~Vesica

WHAA! Okay, bear with me while I sob uncontrollably over the still-inordinately-painful loss of the one, the only Francis, non-dark and loomy, Doyle. *sniffles occasionally * But you have cheered me up with the little vision. I remember laughing at Cordy getting distracted by the pretty hair in her vision. I really don’t think it is a good idea for her to run off to play with the sidhe – she’s gonna be really distracted most of the time. A whole sub group of people obsessed with appearance? That spells trouble – and a fabulous read – to me! ~Vesica

Oh dear, maybe Doyle will have to be explaining that whole hand o’Flesh thing. Glowey powers for Cordy are a good thing and I can not convey in typed words how enthralling the mental image of Doyle standing around, surrounded by a green glow, with a distinct look of ‘Eww’ is. This may be a whole new mental happy place here. Tee Hee! ~Vesica

Ooh! Extermination sounds right up Doyle’s alley. Twenty points to QueenC for correctly sussing out the subtext of Doyle’s insistence that she mosey over to FairyLand. My head hurts contemplating Cordy’s filing system. See that’s the real reason they can’t do without her. Visions or no – no one will ever find a file again if she leaves! ~Vesica

The humor in here is fabulous! Or else you have tapped into the stream of what I think it hysterically funny. "Is this common in your world?” “What? The vampire thing or the miraculous child thing?” Oddly enough the miraculous happenings are really rather common place too. You know what they say...ask a stupid question! I could probably whine about Gunn not ringing quite true but I am not a big Gunn fan so frankly I don't care! Onward! ~Vesica

This one is just teeming with fun in-jokes. Yes, Doyle-let's not explain the Hand of Flesh or the Hand of Blood to little Miss C right now. Oy, that would be a fun conversation. Cordelia's ending line is quintessential Cordy - Alternate Dimensions, previously undiscovered powers, gorgeous yet odd men called to you but yes, let's cut to the chase. All are the sidhe hotties? Well, I guess yes if you ask them - what, with the way they all wax on and on about how darn pretty they are! ~Vesica

Now that I have actually read the books this is hysterical! I would pay good money to see Doyle’s thoughts at this point. Me thinks Mr. Tall, Dark and Lickable has had a few too many centuries of recognition and adoration. I love how he keeps repeating himself with ‘I am the Darkness’. If I remember where this is going correctly, he is in for a rude awakening. There is but one Queen, QueenC and she’s about to turn your little world on its head. Haha! ~Vesica

See, now I feel really dumb. I acutally scanned this fic before and was thrilled by the use of Phantom Dennis but as I hadn;t read either of the Merry Gentry books yet I wandered off without finishing. Let's do this right this time. Oh, and fantastic Cordy voice here! I can completely buy her saying 'hello salty goodness' and 'who the hell are you' in the same breath! Reminds me of the kind of quick thinking and unflappability she displayed in the epi Dennis first appeared in! ~Vesica
