Review of chapter "Chapter Ten" from KJA
Review:
I had forgotten about this story. Last I knew the TARDIS had yet to leave the Buffyvers. This is the only fic I know of in which one of the doctors companions is a Slayer. You have certainly given Rose a few crash courses in being a Slayer. Given the way that you have had Rose react to threat situations I think that she likely has more of killer instinct seen in the first slayer and Dana than we normally see in Buffy. Fortunately being called has not changed her ability to work with others.

Two things that I though were going to happen have not as of yet. First Rose does not seem to have taken the time to go over the reading material that she was given dealing with Slayers. This actually makes sense as I can see her trying to avoid thinking about what she has become. Hopeful Jack can shake her out of the funk she has been in. the other thing that I was expecting was that when she went shopping she was going to fined herself unconsciously looking for or collecting weapons. It would actually make an interesting conflict in the story between the Doctor and Rose about keeping weapons about. Rose could also find herself solving various issue without the Doctors help as she will become more able to look after herself.

In chapters 9 I liked that Jackie's reaction to finding out that her daughter has been changed. It fits with the fear she expressed about Rose eventually becoming a stranger who is not even human anymore. The conclusion of the chapter was also great with Jack preparing to kill Rose. You surprised me with chapter 10 however as I was expecting Jack to wined up with a broken arm and be staring down the barrel of his own gun. Instead except for him drawing his weapon they managed to avoided all violence. The fact that Jack is also different should help Rose come to terms intellectually if not emotional with what has happened. I am looking forward to seeing where you are going with this story.

Review of chapter "Chapter Three" from katfairy
Review:
I just finished chapter ten and I'll definitely be tracking this. I've only got one small quibble, and it's for chapter three. (It's really small, and easily explained away.)

In the episode "The Three Doctors", Sgt. Benton is forced to take shelter in the TARDIS. His response is to look around like a child at Christmas, and The Doctor rather testily asks him if he's going to say it's bigger on the inside because everybody else does. Benton's response instantly shot him from neat recurring character to sheer damn awesome.

"That's obvious, isn't it? Besides, not much about you surprises me anymore."

I may have got the words a little muddled, but that's the gist of it. The poor Sergeant is always overlooked, so I had to give him credit where it's due.

I do apologise for my error, and for the late response to this. My only excuse to plead is lack of knowledge when it comes to 'Classic Who' - my mum didn't think it was 'suitable viewing' when I was young, and by the time I was considered old enough the repeats were off the air. And the only way I know to watch them in any kind of sequence is download expensive, because it involves watching them all on youtube - not undoable, but expensive.

I won't change it in this fic, but I promise that I will keep it in mind in the future! thanks for the review! love xx Shezzi

Review of chapter "Chapter Nine" from Tygrus
Review:
Oh poor Jack! Not nice to traumatize the poor guy like that. And he's probably gonna get hurt by one, if not both of his friends before this gets sorted. The Doctor will really have to work to make this up to both Jack and Rose.

Review of chapter "Chapter Eight" from TroyGuffey
Review:
Interesting story, still a bit close to the original episodes for my taste.

Rose isn't showing the love for shiny, sharp objects that almost every Slayer has, yet. (Most slayers like edged weapons better than jewelry. Even though as girls who happen to be Slayers they do still love jewelry, too.)

Maybe The Doctor should take Rose to a weapons master (or several) to teach her what she needs to learn.

Review:
I spent most of this chapter totally confused. I haven't seen this episode, and while I can appreciate authors leaving out bits instead of rehashing entire episodes, I think you left a little too much out.

I sort of guessed that the Ood where the aliens they first met, but I have no idea who Toby or Zack or Ida were. Why did the Doctor say that he had trapped Rose there? Between that statement, the statement about the TARDIS feeling sick and Rose asking about building a new one, I assumed (sort of) that the TARDIS had been lost or destroyed.

I guess that I mostly figured out what was going on by the end, but there are still bits I'm confused about. If you want to skip over bits of episodes, I'd suggest that you at least summarize highlights for readers who haven't seen that episode. My personal philosophy for writing fanfic that takes place during a canon ep is to try and make it as standalone as possible, so the neophyte reader can follow what is going on, and yet try to avoid repeating as much info as possible, so it isn't boring for the reader who's read every story out there, and does nothing but repeatedly watch their box set DVDs. :-)

Review:
Intriguing how much essentially stayed the same in that episode, in the end, even though Rose's Slayer abilities provided a few extra warnings and options for her and the Doctor. Still, the idea of Rose no longer being quite so short-lived as the Doctor's other human companions provides all sorts of future possibilities.
Comments from author:
Well, I figure, maybe if it had happened six months or so after she was called she might have made a bigger difference. As it is, she isn't experienced enough in picking apart warnings, understanding the slayer sense, or just plain fighting - everything she did was instinctive. I figure, how many people (ie Jessie) did Buffy fail to save in the beginning that in later seasons she probably wouldn't have had a problem with?
You're right, there are plenty of possibilities there...hehehe...thanks for the review, glad you liked it! Love xx Shezzi

SG1's favorite steakhouse AND a crash course in Slayer dreams? Rose and the Doctor really have their plates full!

(And thanks for the explanation about the new Slayers going from zero to sixty in nothing flat, as far as becoming almost as powerful as an experienced Slayer like Buffy or Faith right off the bat. The 'heat of battle' immediate need explanation made a lot of sense.)
