Review of chapter "Chapter 10: Another Wedding" from SlayingDan
Review:
Great Story. An amazing ending to an amazing series. I've really loved all your works in this series. And I think it's amazing how you brought the two very different worlds of Star Wars and Buffy together. Great work.

“Where in the plan did it say we’d be getting back up from the Care Bears?”

Best line in the entire series.

Great series. You managed to keep the original star wars feel and so much yet added BTVS and made it work.

Now for some free advice (certainly worth what you paid)

Ditch the Vong. They were a STUPID storyline. Most star wars fans admit it. Don't make the same mistake Lucas INC did.

Review of chapter "Chapter 10: Another Wedding" from Meneldur
Review:
I've finished reading all six stories, and at this point, I'm unsure whether I hate your story or love it.
Let's start with the simple stuff: I loved how you wrote the story. The relationships, the vast cast of characters that still managed to be represented accurately, the development of certain characters in impossible situations on their home dimension. Especially the way you dealt with the fact that you had a basic outline for the story (the movies) and you managed to keep it, yet make the story uniquely yours by using the characters you put in.
Now for the problem: I loved the way you did Willow. I loved all the character development she went through, everything that happened to her, Darth Traya, coming back, making peace with her friends, her daughter. Developing her from her geek persona to a deadpan snarker towards the end was brilliance, something that would never happen in the Buffyverse, I think.
And so you can understand why I was pissed when you killed her off. She was such an excellent character, and had just managed to reunite with her daughter - and you killed her. I certainly understand that in such an epic battle, somebody had to die, and you can't make your heroes unbeatable - but still. I felt as if all the development, everything she had gone through was wasted, if she couldn't live to see her victory and her daughter.
I do love the stories, I realize. Especially for the Willow parts. And yet I simply don't like the ending. It makes sense and everything - but emotionally, I don't like it. Still, you are a great writer, and I'm going to reread it now. But just because hope springs eternal - will there be any chance for a sequel? Is there any chance that you write even a one-shot where Willow comes back, or interacts with Mara? Any chance at all?
With all the respect due such an amazing and hardworking author, and with eternal hope, waiting for a reply,
Meneldur.

Not sure if you're still writing fanfic or not, but I've gotta say, you're an excellent author. Just read through all six of the stories on here, and the 17 chapters of the next story on Fanfic.net, and they were all just fantastic. Your Stargate/BSG crossover is brilliant too. It's all so well written and engaging. I really hope there'll be more someday, it'd be a real shame if you never came back to any of this. Thanks a lot for all the great stories ^_^

Review:
Wow.

Now THAT was good.

I still think the Jabba scenes were included simply because you didn’t want to diverge too far from the movie- if the group had really wanted to reason with Jabba it would have made more sense if they’d gone to him AFTER the Emperor had fallen when he would have been forced to recognise how much trouble he was in now-, but at least you gave Luke a fairly decent chance to show what he can do now (To say nothing of Leia still being the one to actually KILL the slug in the end).

And as for your use of Thrawn...

Nice touch, to say the least; I haven’t read much of Expanded Universe fiction beyond the basics, but the Thrawn trilogy WAS one I read, and I GREATLY enjoyed all the various elements introduced in the series, so it’s good to see that guy getting an interesting role here (And I have to admire your reasons for including him, really; the Jabba scene might have felt tacked-on, but you DEFINITELY put a not-insignificant amount of thought into this idea of the Empire and the Republic co-existing rather than one replacing the other).

And as for the final assault...

Putting aside the obvious issue of how information detailed enough to let the Rebellion know they were dealing with a trap WASN’T accurate enough to let them know that the Death Star was working, certainly made for a dramatic bit of work; nice to see them actually get the upper hand on Emperor ‘Asshole’ Palpatine from the beginning for a change, rather than just catching him off-guard at the last minute.

Willow’s death was tragic, of course, but I get why you did it- you can’t have a fight on THIS scale without SOMEBODY ending up dead to reinforce the drama of the storyline-, and her subsequent funeral was very moving.

All in all, putting aside my feelings about the Buffy/Obi-Wan relationship (Given that they’re not even having kids it seems very ‘tacked-on’ to me; there doesn’t seem to be any REASON for them to end up together when they could work perfectly well as friends), nice bit of work; keep it up!

Review:
I just read this entire series (including New Jedi Order on FFN) over the past two weeks. The depth of the plot lines, the attention to detail, the characterization... it's all very well done. You manage a huge cast as well as any any writer I've read, and much better than most. Your original characters (Vi and Joyce) are some of the most interesting, without being anything close to Mary Sues. I love that your characters are smart enough to understand the strategic uses of the PPGs - in a lot of science fiction, fan- and otherwise, they would "forget" about those possibilities, if they ever realized them at all, as an easy way to inject drama into the story. I also like that your characters realistically experience the temptations of the Dark Side, and yet you also presented the alternate view, through Willow, that there is no Dark Side. The characters really have their own unique voices.

One thing that might help, in addition to the Dramatis Personae, is some kind of family tree. As Dawn remarked in New Jedi Order, one could go insane trying to keep all of the relationships straight. ;)

Also: Batgirl.
Comments from author:
Yeah, but that would mean I would have to WRITE the family tree. I have a hard enough time keeping it straight myself!

Thanks for the review, I'm glad you're enjoying the series.

Epic doesn't even begun to describe this. The whole series is bloody brilliant! Wish I could have seen more Spike and Angel, but over all it didn't make much difference. ...I cant put this in to words @_@

CLAP CLAP CLAP. What an ending to one of the most amazing epics it had been my pleasure to read over the years. I first found your yahoo site about 2 years ago i guess it was and have been following this story since. I am sylverwolves on your yahoo site just so you know. This story was my first Buffy/Stars Wars story and the one that I have held the other stories like it up to to compare. I have to say only your beta's story came close (you should have won that award ).

I wish more authors out there would learn from you and first the stories , epic or otherwise, that they start.

So from a devoted fan of this universe that you created thank you for a job most well done.

Vornae
