Review of chapter "Seventy: Epilogue" from TamoraCardboardMoon
Review:
I loved this story. So much. Tons and tons.

....but what the FUCK was with the epilogue? I mean, I loved Jonselm's dialogue - it was hilarious - and I understood the basic premise, but introducing us to an entirely new realm WHILE mixing in the hallucinations made it really hard to understand things. I got that Xander is the Seer, but what was with the toad?

Sorry, sorry, I just hate not understanding things.

I loved the story. A lot.

Well that's a first for me.
I loved the story in general but the Epilogue confused the Hell out of me.
I have no idea what is going on there even after reading it thrice.
So props for another great story, but that epilogue seriously was too much (or rather too random )

Review of chapter "Seventy: Epilogue" from Perdurabo
Review:
I've been a fan of your stories for a few years now. Defender of the Night is far and away the best YAHF I've read. I Am What I Am also falls in that category, but I don't consider that to be a Halloween fic. But this, this is hands down my favorite Xander-story.

Your characterizations are spot-on. When I read your stories, I really see and hear the canon characters in my head, which is not something that comes easy to fanfiction stories in general. I think about your plots, and I can see them having their own episodes or arcs in the show without being out of place. You do really good dialogue for characters whose dialogue is infamously idiosyncratic, and thus harder for people to get right.

I read this story a couple times before I decided to post a review of it, because if there's any story that needs multiple readings to truly get the full experience, it's See Noir Evil. And every time I read it, I like it more. It's frequently hilarious, in all the right places and a few intentionally inappropriate ones. I laughed out loud a lot. But despite the comedy gold, it's a very touching and moving character piece. No matter how funny Xander or his hallucinations are, you never forget that it's rooted in tragedy and pain. No matter how heartwarming Tara and Xander are (and I absolutely love that relationship here, one of the prime highlights of this fic), you can't forget that Tara is dead and may just be the hallucination of a broken mind. Throughout this fic, I was stunned by how often a single scene could affect me emotionally, with sometimes contrasting emotions at the same time. Even when I wanted to cheer at the sheer awesome and laugh at the oddball antics, I still felt that tug at the heartstrings. This fic often makes you want to laugh and cry at the same time, and not always for the same reasons. So, good work there.

As far as the character relationships go, you get another solid gold star. Tara and Xander, being the featured pair, are extremely awesome. It saddens me how rarely Tara is used, especially in Xanderfic, and how rarely she's used in character. I think you've really gotten down how great and good Tara really is, and you made me really feel why Willow would love her so much or go mad for losing her. Her interactions with Xander are just really good stuff. Spike and Illyria, too, are really done well. Illyria is still the cold, arrogant demon-godling, but there's also that unwanted humanity we saw glimpses of in canon. Spike is not my favorite character in the fandom, although I liked him on the show, but I feel that you really did a good job with him here. I really felt that, of all the canon characters, Spike is one of those most poised to really understand and appreciate Xander's situation, despite their relative adversity during the show's run. The comparisons to Drusilla rang true to me. And I liked how you didn't fall into the trap that a lot of Xander authors fall into, where Spike is either an ungracious ass with no redeeming qualities even post-soul or he's some godlike object of lust. This story made me really see Spike as a character, as someone who has gone through a journey that has brought him to a new place. He's not Xander's friend, but he is a comrade-in-arms, and they both recognize that.

So, anyway, I just wanted to finally leave a review and let you know that I really enjoy and appreciate your fics. Hopefully, we'll see more of Sights Unseed at some point, because I am intensely interested in where this is going. I guess that means you've done your job as an author very well indeed.

EDIT: Also, I forgot to mention that the alternate Xander was a stroke of genius. It's a great look at how Xander has been portrayed by many Xander-centric authors in the fandom, and how the canon characters would see someone like that. It's a nice dig, without being mean-spirited, and an excellent contrast of your deeply sympathetic Xander to his psychotic always-right counterpart.

Keep truckin',

Wow - great story, and you managed to make Xander's world completely crazy and yet understandable - A fine balancing act!
Either of the last two chapters would have made a great ending but the epilogue just leaves me wishing so hard for a sequel... please...
I want to see the further adventures of crazy Xander :)

This was an incredible read. Entrancing and horrifying at the same time, you wrote just the correct amount of crazy to keep it believable and yet still readable. Fantastic!

This story made my head hurt in the best of ways. I especially liked the scene with Xander against the Horrifier, and clean-suit Wesley. Any chance we can see the outcome of Xander v. Fire Toad?

Sure and certain awesomeness- keep it up.

Wow. This was top-notch. I loved this, absolutely awesome story. You're like the best writer on this site, easy. Everything of yours I've read is awesome as hell. (Speaking of, we need more Wonderland, please. :D)

Only thing I have a question on is the end. You seemed to go for the "End Of Evangelion" WTF-just-happened moment there. It was good, but man am I confused. I wanna know what that was all about, y'know?

Other than that, absolutely brilliant work. Cheers.

F^CK! This is amazing! I don't know what took me so long to get around to reading this but I'm sure glad that I am.

Man! This is the way the series should have ended! I would have paid big bucks to see this, and just think of it on the big screen. AWESOME! LOL

Well it looks like I'll be staying up all night to read this. 'Who needs sleep, it's overrated, insomnia is so the way to go.' -Kristine

This is one of my favorite stories...it is incredible, the way you are able portray Xander's confused, amusing, yet heartbreaking view of the world so well as he stumbles through a mystery that keeps the reader anxious and on the edge of the seat, torn between laughing and crying --I don't even have the words to express how much i love this story!

Excellent story. I loved it but I don't understand the cliffhanger at all... Is it the beginning of a new journey to find his friends again? Everyone got sucked at the end of time... gaah confusing!
