Good on him for attending the funeral, but he's still a bit of a jerk. And it does kind of make sense that he wouldn't know of Dawn, as he wasn't around after her existance began.

Wow, you really had it in for Hank in this one. That's cold. :) Not sure whether to blame you or let you shift the blame to your muse, as I see in the other review responses. :)
I've seen more than one fic that put the blame on the monks' spell for keeping Hank away in Buffy & Dawn's time of need, but can't blame them in this one... Rot in hell, your-version-of-Hank. :)
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! Glad I could inspire that strength of emotion.
Maybe I'll write a snippet that's nicer to Hank one of the days. Kinda even things out. We'll see.

Stories where Hank doesn't know Dawn have always struck me as strange.
And I just realized a good reason why. When the Watcher's Council showed up in season 5 they weren't shocked Buffy suddenly had a little sister. So it must have reached beyond Sunnydale.

Yeah - I gotta agree overall. But this was one of those things that wrote itself. Don't blame me, blame my muse.
Anyway, thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Very good, I'm still sniffing, you pulled them all together well. Having Hank be there, in the back, sneaking out early- rings true. Thank you for sharing.
He might go out on the town?! I hope it's because alcohol is the only thing that makes him feel alive after hearing his daughter is dead! If not, Hank's still an ass. Besides that, nice story. It was depressing, but still good. Especially Willow's part.
