Review of chapter "One Year Later" from Chunkman
Review:
I forgot how good this story actually is. And thank you for having Clark open his eyes about Lana. Words can't describe how much I hater her. Smallville Lana only though I like comic Lana better then most versions of Lois.

By the way can I ask why 'So I Married an Alien in Vegas' isn't up here since you seem to publish everything on both websites? It's my favorite you ever did?
Comments from author:
There is many things i could say about the way Smallville wrote Lana but won't. It doesn't need to be said. Lana in the comics ended up possessed by the villainous Insect Queen many times. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to be Clark's friend does it.

There was an issue with 'So I Married an Alien in Vegas' that it was similar to another story someone else wrote which was pure coincidence on my part but i felt it better to just pull it down rather than get involved in a long struggle over it.

Thanks for the review.

Still think they're diving into a relationship a bit quickly given how little they've spent together, but on the other hand, at least Clark's getting over Lana at last.
Comments from author:
Again i take your points on board and i think i eventually thought the same about it being too quick so i slowed down the relationship in parts 2 and 3 and well not to spoil it or anything but put Buffy and Clark through enough crap to test their relationship to the breaking point and beyond.

Clark cannot get over Lana fast enough IMO. LOL!

No more seriously it is more Smallville's version of Lana that annoys me. That show did so much to ruin a character who has her proper place in Clark's life in the comics as his first crush/love.

By the way i'll say here how much i love your stories. You are one of my favourite authors. Thanks for the review.

Okay, gotta admit to re-reading this when I found it under the heading of under-reviewed stories. Hadn't seen that feature before. Shocked that no one - not even me - had reviewed this before.

It's so exciting that Clark can fly - without being evil! And as much as I would have loved for him to go to Buffy first, it's understandable why he went home instead.

Smallville seems to have turned into quite the little soap opera town. Not surprising that Lana turned evil. Nasty girl! Clark so belonged with Chloe on the show.

I can almost imagine the evil gleam in Chloe's eyes when she found out he needed a new wardrobe for his world tour. Lucky Clark that he has that super-stamina. (Lucky Buffy too, leer)

Speaking of which, boy does he know how to make an entrance! And Buffy deserves the coal-turned-diamond WAYYY more than Lana did! Great job!
Comments from author:
Thanks. I almost always write Clark as being able to fly. IMO this thing about him not flying has gone on too long on Smallville. I mean he is what 22, 23 now. They are starting to make him look stunted.

Don't get me started on Lana. I have this tendency to either kill Lana in my stories or to try to restore her to something closer to the comic book version. At least that Lana is almost likable. And yes the coal-turned-diamond thing should never have been used for Lana especially since Clark went back in time, undid it and saved her life at the expense of his father's. I mean seriously since when was Lana's life more important than Jonathan Kent's.

I too thought Clark should have ended up with Chloe on the show. In fact i wrote a story on ff.net where they do end up with each other. It's called A Decade Lost if you ever want to go read it.

Anyway thanks once again for writing a review.
