I do believe I like this. I like it a lot. :) Very nice twist on things. I like how you have Anita growing up as a Harris with snatches of her other life popping in her head. Good job ^_^* Looking forward to seeing how far you take this.
good, she's starting to figure out the supernatural stuff. Still needs a teacher, though. wow, Xander is going to be pissed to be the last one to know....

She really needs a teacher (for necromancy) or a witch who can lift the blocks on her memory .... hm, if the victim called the police and they find her she might have some explaining to do... but maybe she'll finally return to Sunnydale after this...

I wanted to show that despite have some memories Anita still doesn't have any real control over her powers. Anita felt that she could handle the situation but she didn't really. The best example I can think of at the moment is this one:
Imagine having the basic idea of what a gun does and works. Now someone gives you a gun in real life and you have to use it or you're going to die. You've never handled a gun before and don't know how to use it against something much less a person.
Anita was like this but when it came down to the real moment, panic, adrenaline, etc, took over and her knowledge vanished. It's because she never has faced any of this as Anita Harris even though she has as Blake. She is going to get a teacher/someone to help her learn control. Anita is aware of what goes bump in the night but she wanted to keep it away. Now she has no choice but to face it.
Most memories come back when she's unconscious so you'll have to wait if she uncovers anything while unconscious.

Glad to see you're continuing this story. Would love to know how she wound up in the Buffy-verse.. if she develops her animator ability, and so on. If she shows up back in Sunnydale.... Hey, and she met a doctor! Who isn't Ben!

Still following this like a rabid puppy attacking its master's foot. Hope to see more. Interesting twist making Anita an atheist, big departure from her first life. It was also neat to see how she died (I'm assuming that's what the first part of the chapter was about)

hm...maybe she was dying in St. Louis and Jean Claude tried using magic to save her, and this resulted? clearly it's a different dimension... I keep hoping she'll find someone who can train her in reanimation, the longer that talent goes unused, the bigger the backlash... she also needs it for self-protection. Properly trained, no slayerverse-type vamp would be much of a threat to her...

Ah, that clears up whether or not Anita and Jean Claude are in the same world. I'm really crossing my fingers that Anita doesn't become estranged from her family like she was in the books, it always seemed like most of her neuroses came from having no familial support. One question, was the missing store something from AB? It's been a while since I read the books and don't remember any non Jean Claude run businesses that were important. Anyway, great chapter.

Psychologist/counselor, not a good idea. Though I'm sure he'll come up with all sorts of 'reasons' for her 'problem'. She really, really, needs to find somebody who can train her in necromancy--other wise it'll just build & build.. Maybe Jenny Calendar? (before she goes to Sunnydale to teach). That could be weird.
Comments from author:
I am going to lead to her needing training. Although Anita knows she's different she's still in a major case of denial. It blew up in Sunnydale, the dead man walking toward her in the alley, and the only reason it was kept mostly in control was her "feeling" out the dead. The major focus of this chapter would be the big case of disassociation she feels with St. Louis. She feels she has major problems, hence the wanting to see the counselor. She is going to get training, don't worry.

Yay new story! I think of the the AB stories on the sight this is one of the more creative ones, it's not just a rehash of Buffy character A hooking up with Anita Character B... Or Xander taking over the hyenas:) Can't wait to see where you take it.
