However - I think this is really excellent - the perfect explanation of the enigma that is Mary Bennett.

This was beautifully done. It's a very clever and unique idea and you gave us some lovely snippets of Mary's life. The ending however was very sad. Such a shame it couldn't have ended differently, but I guess not, given the subject matter. Very well executed.

I mean, there was no way that Mary could live longer than she did. Because Buffy was very long-lived and I thought I made Mary almost TOO long lived.

I had been throwing around the idea of historical characters as slayers in my head, but this one fit best.

Thanks very much! I knew it could've been silly, but I made a distinct effort for it not to be. She maybe lived longer than she should have, but I knew her life had to be as tragic as any other slayer's. Glad you enjoyed.

I find it's always easiest to use the person that we don't know much about for this sort of thing, but I think it really worked for Mary in particular as well.
