Review of chapter "Enough" from MarcusSLazarus
Review:
Dramatic way of making Buffy face up to her personal issues, but it was definitely effective; if nothing else, it made a change to have the majority of people being on ANGEL'S side in an argument rather than Buffy's (When you get down to it, Buffy's normally had the bigger 'support group' then Angel does, particularly at this stage when he's only got Wesley and Cordelia DIRECTLY with him).

Plus, Riley gets taken out of the picture; I NEVER liked that guy...

Bugger.

Note: that's intended as a compliment. Fucking staggering, that was. I was poleaxed.

Then Buffy went off with the intention of killing Faith (some ambiguity maybe but not a lot about that) is the one time I didn't like her character. A lot of provocation, but still... In the context of season I can see this happening.

As others have remarked (and including other fics), your writing is talented.

Very interesting take on Buffy and her mental status in Season Four.

During the show, I understood Buffy's rage at Faith, to a point, but I didn't quite understand how she was going to justify to herself, at least, killing Faith. She would have beat her to a bloody pulp and killed her, and Faith would have let her.

I'm sad that Riley was killed - because I really do like his character, especially with his return in Season Six - but I can see him doing this in Season Four.

Not sure about your potrayal of Riley or that Buffy would actually get the point (the only person she seemed to listen to was herself), but everyone else was very well-written.

I can see why this was written the way it was...but I find it interesting that everyone is oh-so-more intelligent & thoughtful than Buffy. Wonder why?

Excellent. You definitely made some good points because for the Buffy character to be the paragon of a "good person" on the show she definitely made far too many mistakes. One finds oneself not liking her most of the time. The character is rotten and emotionally immature and man-crazy. Buffy may kick a-- but she was never truly a strong woman at any time. I don't want to discuss the character in depth but I would like to say you are a very talented writer.

Angel has a soul so technically he is people and she did try to kill Faith one time and if Angel hadn't intervened Buffy would have beat Faith to death or at least tried to sorry not a big fan of hers I guess it shows right :)

Angel isn't really people.

Do you believe Slayers in the past never killed magic users? If a werewolf decided it liked killing people and never locked itself and made sure the change happened near crowded areas what would you do?

In my opinion if you're able to successfully defend yourself against a slayer without modern firearms then you should definately qualify as a potential Slayer target

To much talk at the end.

And I'm sorry but as a chosen warrior for the forces of good I think going postal is a good thing.

I mean seriously, I'm all for redemption, but at the same time killing Faith activates a new Slayer to help protect the world.

Fact is killing things that do evil is Buffy's reason for being.
Comments from author:
Buffy's job does not involve killing people. Never has.

If Buffy was going nuts in season 4 then Faith would've been dead or in Watcher Council custody.

She would not go against everyone if confronted directly.

Review of chapter "Confrontations" from JasonBarnett
Review:
I believe Buffy would believe her. She knows Cordy well enough, she knows she's bluntly honest. Cordy wouldn't be working for an Angel who would kill an innocent human being. If Angel killed Riley because Riley was attacking him Cordy would say something like "Your psycho boyfriend attacked him and Angel just defended himself." So she wouldn't claim she killed Riley to protect Angel and the only reason she'd kill Riley herself would be to protect herself or someone else from him. Or by accident.
Comments from author:
Not in the state of mind Buffy's in. This was based on my theory that towards the end of season 4 Buffy was beginning to go off the rails -- based largely, but not entirely, on her actions when she came charging up to LA to kill Faith.
