Review of chapter "~~ As if things couldn't get any worse... ~~" from BaronScrewtape
Review:
Welp, I was enjoying the read until Alt Buffy died. Then I did what I always do, which is scroll ahead looking to see if she is somehow resurrected. Upon reaching the end, I did as I usually do, and just stop reading. I really hate it when Buffy dies, or gets turned into a 2 dimensional 'buffybot' style caricature as some (rather lazy) authors seem to want to do. No caricature here. Just hated seeing her die.
Anyway, good read until I reached the part that made me skip ahead. I imagine the rest of it was good too. Keep writing.
Edited to add: Ugh, sometimes I wish I had someone around to prevent me from drunk posting. I tend to get a tiny bit emotional on those (rather few, good alcohol is pricey!) times I indulge. What made me a little worse is I am a HUGE Buffy (the character) fan. Enough so that I wonder how rational I am about it. I will say that I love Buffy enough to hate Joss Whedon. So somewhat crazy attachment + alcohol = drunk post. Keep this in mind, readers, friends don't let friends drink and post! Unless they need blackmail.
Taking another look at this. I promise to post a new (sober) review when I get done.
Comments from author:
I'll be honest, you've missed quite a bit of plot. The storyline is wrapping up in the next few chapters and you'll have to see what happens.
And really, that Buffy was, while not evil, still a murderer of innocent Sunnydale citizens. She ISN'T like the real Buffy. Which honestly has me perplexed as to why that alone would have you quit reading.
And who's to say she's really dead? Plenty of people have come back from that before, especially in the Forgotten Realms.
I hope you'll go back and read the rest, as there's plenty of plot you are missing and if you're a Buffy fan, there's plenty of scenes with her.
Still, Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Well, it is time to continue this story, or have you abandoned it?
But...
I really doubt that Ao (or his superiors (yes, he has (see the end of the Avatar-Trilogy)) would allow three crazy deities from a different universe to make trouble in the Realms.
Comments from author:
I've read the Avatar Trilogy. And if you look at Realms history, Ao has done just that multiple times. The Egyptian deities did the same when their followers showed up. Sunnydale showing up is no different. Actually most of the Faerunian deities were from other planes and other spheres. The Elves weren't native to Toril, nor the orcs. Large groups of other mortals showed up and brought their gods and goddesses too. Three meddlesome deities won't even blip on Ao's radar.
I haven't abandoned it. I don't abandon anything actually. I just have had other things taking up my time. I'm sure sometime soon there will be a huge burst of postings, but I won't say when.
I've been a little stuck with this chapter, but it's coming along. Hopefully soon.
Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Review of chapter "~~ Grasping Threads of the Situation ~~" from Oxnate
Review:
Very slowly making my way through this. Anyway, I think that's an awful lot of press for a town that's managed to stay out of the national news despite the death rates. With that many press outlets, someone would break the story. You can't kill/buy them all.
Otherwise, Very good.
Comments from author:
Well, except for Starbucks, of which there is only one, Sunnydale has ALWAYS had more than a town its size should have. A bus station, train station, airport, military base, two colleges, two hospitals, a crap load of graveyards and churches... With the Mayor in power, there wasn't any reason why he couldn't keep the mojo on the press like he did everyone else. This is a man who used magic to keep people from realizing he was over a hundred years old and managed to keep the fact that the High School had a weekly obituary list from the general public. The Sunnydale Syndrome made it so people didn't realize anything was wrong, otherwise the Feds, the state police and a crap load of other agencies would have been involved.
Also, though it wasn't specifically stated, these aren't full stations, they're little offices with a couple of cameras that work for the larger networks. Now, however, they're on their own and instead of consolidating like most other industries in the new Sunnydale, they're keeping their differences.
pretty good story, nice and long, good characterization... but your random attacks of politics almost made me quit the story several times earlier on when it came from people that had no dog in the fight... fortuitously you caught on and had politicians talking politics, it keeps the story from felling jilted and jarring.
Comments from author:
I guess part of the point in this was that everyone was a politician at some level when the entire world has changed for the people involved. Maybe that didn't come across as well as I wanted.

Review:
Half-fiend emus and a beholder with its sights set on Xander. Looking forward to the next installment, and more culture shell shocked drow. Wondering if there will be a massive influx of homeless disgraced drow showing up in town now that Lolth has seemingly abandoned her clergy to a giant snake.
Comments from author:
It's not really a matter of being abandoned, it's a matter of giant snake eating them. You're average fireball spell just won't cut it when dealing with an Old One not to mention that I'm going with the idea that the Mayor is highly resistant to magic in his snaky form. So, no, there won't be a huge influx, but there might be a few here and there. Of course the survivors might try to garner Lloth's favor by attempting to stamp out the remnants of House Do'Urden.
And yes, Half fiend emus. They are the mortal enemies of half celestial platypuses.

Ok, I know I have this on tracking......how do I keep missing it?
Maybe its the juck mail......XD
[To everyone's surprise, the cleric burst into laughter. “No, Alexander, so-called Protector of Man, I am not here for Miss Summers,” he said. “I am here for you.”]
Huh....guess the whole "One Who Sees" thing just came and bit him hard, didn't it?
Comments from author:
Nope, doesn't have anything to do with the "one who sees" thing. He's wanted for a totally different reason.

Review:
here for xander? Well now... That's interesting. You've rather remarkably managed to keep Xander in his cannon near worthlessness without making him a dislikable charactor in the process, why would fzoul want Xander? I assume it'll make more sense next chapter or soo, but for now... I'm completely lost.
Comments from author:
Xander isn't worthless in this story. While he isn't a super-badass, he's not without his talents. He has one of the most important roles actually: liason between the Initiative and the SSDF. Where as the Initiative has now taken over for the police, the military needs to be kept up to date and vice versa. That is one of the reasons he was taken.
And yes, it'll make more sense in the future.

Review:
ROFLMAO!
...
That and holding my head in agony, gnomish superman. Shiver.
I gota admit to being curious though, while ford is all well and good due to the relative closeness in technology, why wasn't tony stark a bigger influance in Lantan? Gnomes qere quite well known for technomancy and created all sorts of comperable things with their art.
Comments from author:
Well, while Tony Stark is a genius with lots of technology under his belt...well, let's face it, Tony's tech is so far beyond what they could manage at that point. It's almost all computers and electronics. It's way, WAY too advanced for them to truly understand the situation. It's one thing to understand how things work on a basic level, but a totally different thing to start from the top with no industry and education in the thing. It's like sending Marco Polo to the moon: while cool, it doesn't really make sense. Let's let them focus on internal combustion before going straight to super-science. When it comes to super smarts, Gnomish Peter Parker would be more useful since he actually teaches science and is a master of chemistry.
Lantanese Gnomes and humans, on the other hand, are very creative. They were already working with the effects of black powder and basic mechanics, now they have abilities to mass produce their creations after first being built, something that is very valuable to any society because it means they can make things faster and cheaper. And, since they already have airships, this means they can make air warships with motors to go faster. They'll blend in some magic here and there, but they've only just started.
And a Gnomish Supergirl. How's that more wrong than a gnomish Wolverine?
