Review of chapter ""Those are some--"" from PsychoWing
Review:
I loved this chapter. And, it's a real pity there aren't more Good Eats crossovers. I've only found two and neither are remotely alike. Oh, and I love the inclusion of Thing.

Umm ... Not getting the context of this little plot bunny ... If I knew the background a little more, I might have laughed... but as it is ... this one went over my head ... a LOT ... not your fault, but when you reply, gimme a clue (not the clue bat) on where this is coming from....
Comments from author:
Well, I pushed this too much so I'm not surprised that some readers do not know what is going on. The background is that the Boy/Girl Scouts of America decided to have a scouting group for Demons and Magical Creatures. Xander and Ethan are their test mice in this experiment.
Xander e-mails the Scoobies to come to his house to meet his Troop. There were expecting some kids not demons/magical creatures. So Buffy and Willow react like normal, slay first ask questions never.
The parents of the Troop are not happy with them.

Lol! I'll admit, the idea of catgirl Dawn is darn sexy. But I hope she got some good claws out of the deal. Hello! Living on the Hellmouth means fight or die so I hope she got some fighting skills with the catgirl package.
Review of chapter ""WHERE ARE THEY!?!"" from Difdi
Review:
One thing that always struck me as interesting about the YAHF genre, is that intent seems like it would be a major factor, but few fics touch on it. Wearing just olive drab BDUs and no other costume articles, you could wind up as anything from a private in the army to a crazy survivalist to a survivor of the Zombie War. You could be anything from a Vietnam war private to someone from the 2050s. The limiting factor seems to be intent. If Xander intends to be a Vietnam-era private, that's what his costume turns him into. But if he intends those same unadorned BDUs to represent "Xander Harris, starfighter pilot", then he may end up with an in-depth knowledge of FTL navigation post-Halloween instead of being able to field strip an M-16 blindfolded.
Another thing is, small changes can have large results. For example, one Xander Halloween fic (I forget the name, but it involved time travel) I've read has him slipping a note into the pocket of Buffy's costume, ostensibly "from" her Watcher, and that alone changes her from Lady Useless to Elizabeth the Vampire Slayer without otherwise altering the costume. What I wonder is, did Ethan sew little notes into a linings of some of his costumes, to get specific results from ambiguous costumes? Given how devoted to Chaos he is, this seems a bit orderly, but you never know, since specific results could be chosen to promote greater chaos.
Another possibility that some fics have touched on, what if Xander puts on a costume that appears unisex, but is actually of a female character?
Makes me wonder how many different people he could wind up as, with just a long-sleeved black shirt, khaki pants and a palm pilot...
