Review of chapter "The Day Before the Darkness" from (Current Donor)jcon
Review:
Just got around to reading this chapter. Anya!! The God of Chaos. What fun. Can't wait to read more of the back story to Anya hating Spike. Had fun reading this chapter, extremely well written. Descriptions were detailed & certainly got me more involved in the story.

Well, I've just discovered this and read it through at one sitting. All I can say is "Wow!!!". What a fantastic idea and your latest glimpse of a world that might have been is even more so. Really looking forward to the next installment. :-)

Given the darker nature of the AU that Sam and Spike are in, I can imagine quite a few candidates for the "death to Spike" TV viewer.

Really like where you are taking this divergence. Vala and Anya are such a natural mercenary pair together!!

Maybe Spike should call Angel?
Comments from author:
No plans for Angel to show up- there's not much he could contribute, anyway-, but if it helps, not only do I have plans for a couple of other Scoobies to appear, but Angel's down to appear in the sequel...

Fascinating! I'm glad you had Spike inquire about this world's version of the Scoobies and associates, and that at least Cordy and Tara seem to be doing better (i.e., still alive), compared to their fate in Spike's own world.
Comments from author:
Well, things can't always be crap in the alternate realities they visit; like all worlds, this one has its ups and downs.

Review:
Enjoyed the chapter. Definitely curious as to what differences, if any, there are with the Scoobies and Fang Gang.

One suspects that if Wolfram & Hart are still around in this verse, that they would not appreciate the Ori interfering with their own planned apocalypse-after all, the universe, or at least Earth, has room for only one group of supreme rulers, and I doubt the Wolf, the Ram and the Hart would want the Ori to be that group.

That was a fun chapter! I liked the brief mention of Oz. Will he come into play in a greater role later? Did William even meet Drusilla to become Spike in this world? Or did he die human? Thanks for sharing!
Comments from author:
No plans for Oz, but other alt-Scoobies will feature later if all goes according to plan.

As for Spike's other self, I'm operating on the assumption that this reality only diverged from the one we know at the time of 'Lost City'- which, for Buffy and co., is going to have taken place shortly after Dawn came into existence-, so everything that happened before then is the same in both worlds, but after that...

Well, you'll have to wait and see.

Review:
Hope things go well, with Spike functioning as Sam's lab assistant and sounding board (maybe she'll be able to save this earth from the Ori and get back to her own reality without quite so much trouble and grief, this time).
Comments from author:
As nice as that would be, that won't be possible; keep in mind that we still don't know what happened to the people that SPIKE knows back home in this world...

Review of chapter "Crossing the Bridge" from RevDorothyL
Review:
Can't wait to see how Spike being in Sam's corner might affect her experiences in the alternate universe where Gen. Landry is pretty much president-for-life and planetary dictator.

Review:
Great chapter, and great explanation as to how Spike got his body back.

Very interesting idea of Sam and Spike running into the alternate Scoobies. Of course, the "Key" issue raises questions as to Dawn. Depending on one's interpretation of the power of the Key, can there be more than one Dawn, or is there one real Dawn and the others are mere shadows of her.

As far as treatment of alternate Scoobies, and how they would be like/unlike the "real ones" (or real to Sam and Spike anyway), one could go the route that Zelazny did in his Amber series (if you have not read them, I highly recommend it).

The Chronicles of Amber is the first 5 book series (the first book is Nine Princes in Amber), the second series is also 5 books. If you search Amazon of Google under Roger Zelazny and Amber it should be easy to find, as it is probably his best known work. The fundamental nature of reality is one of the themes.
Comments from author:
Glad you liked the chapter, but what's this 'Amber' series that you're talking about?
