Very interesting chapter, I hope you'll post more soon
Will you bring in other DC comics characters?
Sorry, not that familiar with CM.
Comments from author:
Probably not. And actually, the entire story was based on the concept of Captain Marvel Xander (not as powerful as the actual comics version) versus Glory. And since Buffy didn't die, the First won't have his chance to go "Ooogah boogah!", so other than taking out the Trio with complete and utter humiliation involved, I have run out of ideas on where this could go, without bringing in Black Adam, Sivana, Mr Mind, and the other CM enemies.

Very nice solution to the Glory situation. Like the overload playout of absorbtion. Was glad you kept Giles' part in the Glory story intact, but would have been interested if Xander had voiced the need to end Glory/Ben. May still be a nice point of confirmation between Giles and Xander that the matter is closed and won't be cropping up again. Would show a budding maturity to Xander that seemed to develop in the Fifth Season and carry into the Sixth. Both seemed to play out his growing up and dealing with more mature issues. Maybe not well as evidenced by the whole Sweet fiasco and such, but the signs were there if they had decided to play it in a more prominent role.

Would think you have to have some fun with Anya experimenting with his powers or pestering him about using them for sex. Am wondering if Joyce is still going and if there is a means of saving her. Also wonder what the progression beyond a wrap up chapter would be. Either you progress to the Trio and Willow's addiction or the First Evil or one not of Buffyverse. Some interesting options available to you, but as I didn't read Captain Marvel am not sure if his villians would translate well to Buffyverse.

Hope inspiration keeps striking and the plot bunnies remain restless. Thanks for what you've submitted so far.

Good fight! Xander was smart to overload Glory like that. And poor Rupert, having to take the responsibility of smothering Ben. I'm glad to see this update!

Good job on the stoy so far, wish there wasn't a time limit on how long Xander can be like that. Please post more soon.
Will you be bringing in any other DC characters?
Comments from author:
Well, the reason I added in the time limit was two-fold: First, Captain Marvel is simply vastly too powerful for the Buffyverse. He can toss mountains, shrug off battleship cannons, and fly to the moon and back, not to mention go toe to toe with Superman himself, on virtually an even keel. So first I toned down the overall power granted to him, and then, because the series is "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and not "Xander, Friend of the Slayer", he's a 'big gun' kept in reserve for when he's really needed. It balances him with the rest of the team, gives him an edge when it's needed, but doesn't cause so much unbalance that the Other Side gets to intervene... much.

i always thought captain marvel was way more stacked than he should be

hes like superman but without a alien ancestry or the power of the sun, just some word that gives you amazing power.
Comments from author:
As for the 'power of the sun' for Superman... the amount of solar energy hitting a surface area equal to the skin of a large human, even if converted 100% to mechanical energy, is nowhere near enough for even a tiny fraction of the super-feats we see him do, whether in the Golden Age, Silver Age, Modern Age, cartoons, movies, or anything. Captain Marvel has MORE of an excuse for vast power than Superman does.
