I've decided that your TSSC stories are little Pandora's Boxes. They let out fear and hate and pestilence, but they keep that last little thing--hope--preserved for the future.

Your reviews always make me smile and blush - so thanks! :)
Very nice. The story would have been just fine without the snippets of future that Derek remembered. But those bits of memory of future Buffy made it that much better. Kind of like bacon...everything is better with bacon. ;)

You are right, everything is better with bacon! Yum.
"A small click echoed behind him as he pulled the door shut."
Now for some reason that resonated. The closing of the door kinda felt like the closing of that chapter in their lives. You know, the one where they constantly under fire by machines of death.
I love that you fit in Buffy’s insecurities about men without it going down the ‘woes her’ path. Her hesitancy was well played and perfectly in character and the way she lost her hand, wow, so very heartbreaking and believable. A small part of me is up in arms that you off’ed Dawn, but the impact of it worked wonders for the story.
Also, thank you for mentioning that Buffy had tattoos before Judgment Day. Towards the end of the series the makeup and directorial crew got a little lax at covering up and SMG’s and Hannigan’s tats and I’m not complaining, but that makes them part of canon and a lot of writers just ignore that little tidbit. *squeezes you*
Also, you need to stop worrying about your portrayal of Buffy. You did wonderfully and I’m a stickler for her characterization—as you well know. ;) And this was so very well done and set up that I want to hoard it all for myself. Plus, you left it a little open ended, which I adore, and now want a sequel when you have the time and inclination.

Thank you, thank you, thank you again for this wonderful review. I so greatly appreciate the time and love you put into it.
I really want to write a piece in this verse from Buffy's point of view. I think I may require hand-holding (of yours) for that though!!
I love this story so much I cannot handle it. I have long since given up writing fanfiction but the idea of Derek/Buffy thrills me so much that I have new fanfictiony daydreams. Thanks for sharing!

*beams* Thank you honey!
I'm glad it was an enjoyable read. Perhaps there will be more Buffy/Derek in my future...
