An interesting story. It was well written and I look forward towards the sequel.

It was my very first long form story. I look forward to hearing what you think of Turned from Darkness.

Thank you for taking time to review,

Review:
just found this story and series... So far its interesting. Also, I think out of the Evil Three Scruge of Europe Vampires Only Dru wasn't Killed and or reborn and killed again....
Comments from author:
I really do hope you'll stick with it and read her epic life story... It was so much fun writing about Dru and her transformation. Do let me know what you think.

Peace,

Review of chapter "Special Delivery" from deathgeonous
Review:
I've been meaning to reread this series for quite the while, so I could finally Rec it. This series is, in my own humble opinion, probably the Best Dru centric fic series out there. Well, thanks for writing this, bye for now. Oh, and while I am recing this fic, I only rec the first fic in any and all series, mainly due to limited recing space. Just so you know.
Comments from author:
Thank you so much!!! I love to hear from my readers and I love it when they are kind enough to give me reviews and recs!! Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so glad to know how you feel about my writing. This series is my baby and I'm glad to know that you appreciate it.

Thank you for making my day with your lovely Rec!!

Much gratitude.

Review of chapter "Special Delivery" from DarthTenebrus
Review:
That was great! As far as I'm concerned, Drusilla hadn't to date gotten the recognition she deserves....until this. Well done, looking forward to reading the others here.

I might even put Drusilla into my own unfinished stories....in fact, I think I will, soul and everything...thank you!
Comments from author:
Thank you! Glad you agree. I really love her character and came to love her even more over the course of writing the prequel... (It was actually supposed to be one story - the second one -- but I had this question... how do I explain the fact Dru had a soul... and here I am.

If you do use an ensouled Dru in one of your stories, please drop me a line. I wish there were more Dru with a soul stories.

EDIT: Thank you so much for your recommendation. It is deeply appreciated.

Review of chapter "Effulgence" from VillageOrchid
Review:
The after the 39 trials part that you wrote was awesome, but it was hard to imagine the 39 trials, other than they did exist. After fighting deamons in a cave for 2 weeks, even if it was an illusion, I suppose the trials seemed manageable.

EDIT: Ah, didn't realize that "trials = tortures". Yep, that would have been a bit gratuitus.
Comments from author:
I guess I could have thought of 39 ways to torture her... which were supposed to be exactly like the 39 ways that Spike was challenged (they didn't say 39 in canon, I made that up). I felt that it was pretty easy to imagine those challenges, b/c we saw insects crawling under Spike's skin and we saw him burned... It just seemed more interesting to concentrate on the 'significant' things... I'll have to think about the trials more for future reference.

Thanks

Review:
That was lovely... and knowing that you're gearing up for more is cool.
Comments from author:
Thank you so much. This story was very rewarding to write... funny, since it was actually written to answer a question... 'why on earth would Drusilla get a soul?' (originally the second story was to be 'the' story. The first story was a way of figuring out how Dru could end up where she did...) you know: "What do you mean, Dru has a soul?"

I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

Review of chapter "Purgatory" from VillageOrchid
Review:
Ah.... but will it be a last temptation or a 40th trial or will it always be a temptation....
Comments from author:
Indeed. If you don't face yourself, you're doomed to spend your life fighting with your inner landscape...

Review of chapter "Reunion" from VillageOrchid
Review:
Good time-stamp with the Dawn studying in Italy part. Lots of stuff going on here. Good job with the tension and interest in what's going to happen next.
Comments from author:
Thank you. Of course, in this case it was a 'study abroad year', not a brand new life! Glad that you like the way it sets the stage.

Peace,

Review of chapter "You think you know... What's to come..." from VillageOrchid
Review:
A little confused that those 2 weeks of fighting and falling, and then fighting off dark temptation were not considered part of the trials. But since there is much to come... I look forward to seeing how you might resolve this.
Comments from author:
What those 2 weeks were was an 'extra' challenge by the forces of darkness to prevent her from getting to the field of battle to fight for her soul. I hope my resolution is satisfactory!

Peace,

Review of chapter "Africa" from VillageOrchid
Review:
The last two chapters were really good to show introspection over an extended period of time, while also being a narrative.
Comments from author:
I'm glad the introspection wasn't too much... There is so much going on inside my characters at this point. You made me go back and reread several chapters today. It was fun to revisit!

Thank you

Review of chapter "Consequences and Truth" from VillageOrchid
Review:
I liked Dru's line: “Uncomfortable truth is always better than comfortable lies,”
Very thematic.
Comments from author:
Thank you so much. That was one line that really spoke to me. I'm glad it speaks to you too.

Review of chapter "Pure Red" from VillageOrchid
Review:
Well, since all Patrick had was latent lust, I guess he's lucky he didn't get a hard-on that was larger than normal and couldn't be relieved. He didn't really hide, so I that's why he was safe from that.
Comments from author:
Lust wasn't the ruling aspect of Patrick's character, fortunate for him. He's one of those people of integrity who 'what you see' is really 'what you get'. That's part of why he's had such a profound effect on Dru.

Peace,

Blue
