Ok I think I know what may have happened to Bodhi by the time of "The King of Elfland's Daughter." I may still have some links missing, but in the last of two of the current chapters with TA she'd made a deal with the Devils in the Nine Hells. Then she was put to work at Wolfram and Hart. Now a clue as to what she is now from when Tony shot her lead's me to believe she's the blond female terminator from the third movie. The taking of the Sig Sauer from an L. A. area cop and the glimpse of metal Tony saw when his second bullet impacted with her face are my clues. Now I wonder just what Wolfram and Hart need with a Terminatrix or are they the brains behind Cyberdyne and the Air Force taking over Cyberdyne's computer and robotics research?
Comments from author:
There wasn't any 'glint of metal'; just the bullet flattening out *as if* it had hit steel, and leaving a slight red mark on Bodhi's cheek. And the SIG Bodhi is talking about is the one she took from a Sunnydale cop, earlier in Tabula Avatar, which she lost in the battle in the Graveyard District when Giles spellsung it into his hand. She isn't a Terminator and the people employing her are not Wolfram and Hart. As an Erinyes devil she has an extreme resistance to damage except from magical weapons or silver, making her effectively invulnerable to bullets.

Stupid Question: Could Giles summon up some ice cream by singing "I love Rocky Road(By Weird Al)"? I just ask because I just re-read the section in Debt of blood where Major Carter explains that Ice Cream is now Cierre's favorite food.
Comments from author:
He probably could, if he thought about it, and there are other foods he could summon too.

just read all three of these over the last few days. They are excellent. Good work. Hope you will update soon.
Comments from author:
Thank you! I'm shuttling around between stories right now, writing a bit of one and then a bit of another, so I can't be sure how long it will be before I update this one.

Just caught up with your series- I admit I expected it to be rather flat and forced when I started reading. Two days (and four skipped classes...) latter, and I will freely admit that this is a great series. There's just enough scenes in Sunnydale to keep it feeling connected, the characters themselves are written well (in regards to playing true to cannon and being enjoyable to read) and the action is neatly balanced against the dialogue. I love the way you've managed to use the entire experience to improve everyone's characters, even the Trio, in such an organic feeling manner.
Thanks for writing.

It lives! I was just starting to wonder if this was a dead series ... then you updated!
I like the fact that you're building up a very large party, rather than remaining limited to six members due to game mechanics. Admitedly, it can get confusing with that many characters, but the combined firepower is nice.
Nice justoposition of Egeria and Bodhi, dealing with their changed forms. And it's nice to see Bodhi realising that revenge is bad for business ... unless she's pulling the wool over her overseers eyes ...
Poor Buffy ... she just can't get a break, romantically. The question is, does Artemis strive to become a better man to win her heart? Or will he not get the chance ...
I enjoy this series very much, and look forward to the next chapter. Please, keep it up.

I really enjoy this whole series, and I'm sorry I hadn't written to tell you so already. I enjoy your ear for dialogue, and I think the relationships are very well done. I thought the Buffy/Sorkatani relationship was particularly well done; the mix of initial antagonism, competitiveness, respect and eventual friendship was great character development.
I also am really enjoying Shar and the god-politicking. It's a fascinating look at what might have been; frankly, I like this result much better than canon. It's been fun trying to work out what happened in the meantime from "Debt of Blood" and "Plague of Serpents." Viconia's popularity in Athkatla is only going to help Shar recruit, I guess.
Things I love about this entire series (in no particular order) include but are not limited to: Jack and Sumia, allies in humiliating/defeating heathens who use plagues improperly; Jarlaxle and Artemis, stand-up guys; Bodhi the scarily intelligent vampire signing on as an Erinyes; Sharbucks; the rock and roll music revolution; Ust Natha's new management; Warren growing into more of a hero and less of a supervillain; Lloth being tough on apostrophes; Anya's introduction of feminine underwear and hats; angels dressed like bikers; bystanders with enough personality to interfere with a fight they found morally repugnant; Tanova teaching at Hogwarts; and Tara trying to explain what she remembered of modern Finland.
I was wondering, if it's not a spoiler, is Umad also the Key? Or did the Key-ness go with Dawn?
I am also curious about the scene where Joan talks with the first slayer, and Sineya says "the other you knows another me" and then "precious to me as she is precious to her." Is Sineya saying that, just like the Scoobies got copied into Toril, Sineya was copied as well? Or did that mean something else entirely?
Anyway, it was lovely to see the update. This series is fantastic and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Thank you very much!
Yes, Umad is also the Key; or, rather, the Key exists in both places simultaneously. If Glory's ritual was re-enacted now it wouldn't break down all the barriers between realities, it would just open a permanent portal between Earth and Faerûn. And that's why Warren's computer has been able to act as a portal and physically transport Warren, Bodhi and company, and Jonathan back and forward between the two places.
Yes, Sineya (through that part of her that dwells within Buffy) was copied as well.

I missed Jaheira a bit - she only had two lines in this whole chapter. I guess with this many characters it's hard to keep track. Don't get me wrong: I love the cameos from Sharwyn and Jarlaxle. But you're juggling with many balls here. One on one, your dialogues are still top notch - I loved the guard scene for example. However, if I counted correctly, you now have eighteen(!) characters in the assault party with a speaking role appearing in this chapter - and Boo of course (though that's more of a squeaking role). That has to be challenge.
On the other hand, you've gotten so far and created so many stories in this realm - I have no doubt that the assault and end fight still have a few surprises for our intrepid heroes. And I'm always happy to see new material from you. So, concluding:
Thanks for writing, Just in Jest
Comments from author:
This was always intended to be a very Giles-centric chapter, and concentrated on the music side rather than his personal life, so there wasn't much room for Jaheira.
The next chapter will be Buffy and Sorkatani-centric, and there might not be all that much Jaheira in it either, and the one after that will centre on The Rupert Giles Experience and the doings of the gods. However there will be a major development in Jaheira's life soon that will be an important plot point for Book 4: Throne of Buffy.

Well Bodhi seems to have landed on her feet. I do love Edwina. Some of the finest banters in the game. He got off a touch easy, and even got some magic, but hey, there are worse mages in the game. (And those guards are awfully chatty. Secrets are obviously for sale in Amn). At least they don;t have money problems. That's something.
So now Buffy is dating Entreri? In the words of Giles, Dear Lord... She does now how to pick them. Another one with major issues.
At any rate, many thanks for writing
Comments from author:
Athkatla is the City of Coin - of course secrets are for sale there.
I don't think Buffy would know how to date someone without major issues.
Thank you!

Thank you! No way will I let it sink into oblivion; I'm particularly looking forward to writing the scenes with Sendai in 'Tabula Avatar Book 4: Throne of Buffy'.
