Xander's characterization seems a bit off...of course, if it's AU, go for it. Nice descriptions and a very definite sense of impending doom make this story a definite nail biter. The aftermath, though, will be the kicker (as M.R. said).

Yeah, this is more AU. Plus I don't think Jule's would react well to Xander's normal wit and sarcasm hence the lack of it. I went with Xander as I felt he'd be the most believable to get into that situation. I just couldn't see it with any of the other male characters.
Very in character...well except for Xander borrowing money from them. But it was still an entertaining read and I'm sure Xander had a good reason to borrow that money. ;) And what can I say...I have a soft spot for anyone that is willing to kill off a main character. lol.

Haha yes, you should never fear killing off a character if it's what the story requires. Most of the BtVS characters have had more than their fair share of near-misses so I don't mind seeing their luck run out sometimes. Maybe that's just the sadist in me! :S
