Definitely an interesting startoff - lays groundwork nicely while leaving some mysteries (I notice you never stated just what the 'Chosen' of Bastet could do ;) ). Hoping to see where this leads...
Oh, and a comment re Buffy/Cordelia casting-according to IMDB, both you and Thedruid are right! Charisma Carpenter originally read for the part of Buffy, while Sarah Michelle Gellar read for Cordelia...

Great start of your fic, like the idea of Bastet getting herself a warrior to fight the false Gods. If three sorcerers could create the slayer and give her those powers. Then a goddess as Bastet should at least be able to match them and make hers better.
Being the goddess of war and Cats, the power should grow over time. As for powers you got lions panthers, tigers, pumas etc. Each of the cats that exist of have existed have some special strength being speed, strength etc. Would be fun if Cordy had access to those powers.
When Bastet wakes up and finds out her newest warrior is Cordy, he he he he. Thats going to be fun when the two start talking and Bastet tries to get Cordy to do her fighting and hunt Ghoulds. Can't wait to see whats she going to use to bribe Cordy in going after Ghoulds.
Bastet needs follower to get her power/strength back, she got the world and the rest of the galaxy filled with humans. If the Ghould could steal there followers Bastet can do the same to them now and steal them back.
Get SG1 to run into Cordy of world for the first time getting new followers for Bastet, maybe even take over the Ghoulds Bastet territories.

Nice beginning. Hope you don't actually overpower Cordelia though. And just a little bit of trivia, wasn't the actor who plays Cordelia orginally going to be 'Buffy'?
