Interesting beginning, the one thing that I noticed as off where the dates in the story. You have Harry being 9 in 2001 and coinciding with Buffy Season 1, however in the story itself you had Harry being born in 1980. I don't know if this is something that will be mentioned later on, if Harry is somehow frozen in time and then wakes up a decade later, or if you just didn't realize the dates where incorrect. In any case, looking forward to seeing where you go with this.

It still makes no sense though, going by the dates you've given, you want Harry to be 9 at the beginning of Buffy season 1, which you placed as taking place in 2001. Yet in the story you said Harry was born in 1980, which would then make him 21 in 2001. Sorry, I might be missing something or just being incredibly obtuse.
Comments from author:
That's deliberate, i wanted Harry younger than the main Buffy group because i wanted the new Watcher's Council to be established when Harry finally went up against Voldemort but i still wanted Harry at Hogwarts age

Huh...I don't think that dealing with Travers will be such a good thing for young Harry. He's as manipulative and controlling as Dumbledore. Giles should be able to help mitigate that though. During the series, Giles went from obedient, to questioning, then to doing what was right for his charge (Buffy) no matter what the cost to himself.. Giles has enough discipline to deal with a powerful charge, and is enough of Ripper to handle any rebellion from said child. I look forward to a Harry raised by Rupert 'Ripper' Giles. When he deals with the wizarding worl, it won't be from the standpoint of a manipulated and awestruck child,

A HP friends with Giles & Buffy etc, but who strongly dislikes the entire wizarding world, would be real interesting once Voldemort returns. Even assuming V. doesn't make it back in "book 1 or 2" ie Dumbledore probably could have stopped Quirrell easily himself, maybe same with Chamber of Secrets (one gets the impression he regarded those as training for HP) --eventually Tom is back, and HP has to fight him... I could see an Hermione who never made any friends and is very closed off, stuff like that...
