Review of chapter "Live This Life (Dawn/Mary Jane Watson)" from laoshi
Classic Hundredaire. Buffy jumping at the chance was just deliciously cruel. Only you would ever have Dawn do Olympic diving displays to during her save the world leap only to have her land on her bum. It's ridiculously sublimely funny.

I've been waiting for someone to do a Dawn as the Hulk story for ages. You think it'd be obvious with the whole green thing. I'm glad you finally bit the bullet.

Quick question about Dawn's powers. I've read ahead to the next story so I know Dawn has the Oriens thing going on in this reality. But I was a little confused when MJ pushed Dawn and nothing happens when she's in her regular form. I'd understand if she were in her Emerald form because she would weigh to much to move. But in regular human form wouldn't her body have all the properties of a regular teenage girl. Was she using her Orien's powers to increase the density of her body? feel free to pat me on the head and tell me not to think so much about this stuff.

I like MJ ripping in to Dr. Banner for letting the absent minded professor riff extend into his parenting. And Banner going Soylent Green ewwww.

I'm glad you decided to make this part of a larger series because i think the Dawn as hulk concept has a lot of untapped comic potential. Hell, keep making jokes about Dawn's Hulk form in all its bathykolpian glory and I'll be happy.
Comments from author:
In the Ultimate Universe, Bruce Banner (from who Dawn's new DNA is drawn) has been altered at a cellular level by a serum, rather than exposed to gamma radiation. It makes his body super-adaptable to situations to turn him into the ultimate soldier... you could toss him out of a spaceship on Venus and before he died, he'd be breathing the atmosphere. SHIELD finds that out the hard way when they try to flood a containment cell with Venusian atmosphere to suffocate him. He can also (in Banner form) survive being stepped on by a robot with a foot bigger than he is. So Dawn has some durability in Banner form, but of course nothing akin to her Emerald form.

And before he gained full control of the Hulk, Bruce had a bad habit of eating humans as the Hulk... which left him in a bit of a quandary, since he was vegetarian as Bruce.

As per your standard, very very good!

I can see Dawn really deciding she's sick of people trying to make her stay put while they leave her. It was always Buffy's big issue, after all..

You know, with the apparently QUITE obvious feminine traits of DawnHulk, I'd think it would be very hard for anyone to mix her up with her (new)dad.... that said, sometimes people are just dumb. Very, painfully dumb.

...and you bashed Buffy in the face with a brick. BtVS villains everywhere would applaud you for that.

This is a bit different than some of yours that I've read.... Still Dawn, still not the blonde Slayer's biggest fan, yet again having Tony Stark as frequently drunk (quite canon for him though)... still not a big fan of Peter Parker...

wait, there's no lesbians! Are you feeling okay, Joe? (teasing a little)

Seriously, this was cute. I liked how your Dawn has a backbone and is willing to do more than sit around inflicting teen angst on everyone around her. She had a plan (even if I do think her jumping instead of Buffy is a rather crazy plan), she took action to make it work, and she's willing to deal with the consequences (Buffy often failed on that third part...)

I'm curious if you plan to play more with this idea at some point or just wanted to get the blasted bitey plot bunny away.

I always post my FFAs/one-shots as their own story in case a bug bites me and a story comes out of it. Alas, 99% of them get merged into my FFA collection to cut down on the clutter in my account. This and I Kissed A Girl (MJ/Illyria) could go together nicely, though...

Interesting. This time Dawn becomes something similar to the Hulk.

Heh. I love the snark between Dawn and MJ. Hope Betty is Dawn's 'mother'. Though I am curious as to what Pop-Tarts have to do with anything?
Comments from author:
It was a running joke at a comics forum I used to frequent; one of the more recent scenes depicting Hank Pym abusing his wife Janet includes what appears to be a box of Pop Tarts flying through the air as he freaks out and throws shit.

Full 10 Points for the Dawn goodness. :)

>"If Tony's sober..."

Iron Man with a Iron Bottle Problem? Hehe

>"My old man goes all Soylent Green once and they hold it against you forever…"

Yikes... I wanna more! ;)
Comments from author:
It's a recurring problem in the Ultimate Universe. The Hulk has a bad habit of eating people who piss him off.

I've been hoping that She-Hulk would come up in a crossover here sooner or later. Not exactly the original, but nice job anyway!

a rather nice Batman / She Hulk crossover.

I had to. Dawn's green. Hulk's green. I'm surprised nobody thought of it sooner.
