Review of chapter "Prologue" from getjrjt
Review:
This one is among my favorites: i love the Buffy character and hated the end seasons of that show. Totally turned off by Angel, but still love this explanation of this episode, would have much more entertaining this way. thanks for the great fic.
Comments from author:
Of all the crappiest choices made on the show, Buffy hiding Angel's return from Giles had to be one of the top 10. I really, really wanted there to be a good reason behind it that we just didn't get to see. Glad you liked it.

Review of chapter "Chapter 5: No Other Way" from espinosaca
Review:
I'm not saying she doesn't get called on it more often then the others but she does bitch about it more then they do too. Unlike Xander and Dawn and even Willow at the beginning she was given the ability to fight them and the training to do so. The others were not given anything but they still fought, they never ran away, and some of them like Xander have been outright ridiculed by their so-called friends for their decisions. I like Xander, he does what needs to be done and damn the consequences. He'll lie and steal if need be to save the world. Buffy on the other hand ran away after her undead beau died. In my opinion Buffy is touched in the head if only for trying to have a relationship with Angel. He's the ultimate pedophile, I don't care if his appearance never changes it does not change the fact that a person that has been around for 200 years started a relationship with a sixteen year old. He's also a walking, talking corpse as he himself pointed out when Buffy needed cpr.

I'm *so* with you on the Angel issue. Uber-shudders there.

Review of chapter "Chapter 5: No Other Way" from zigpal
Review:
I can't believe I missed this one, and I liked your explanation of why Buffy hid Angel's return. The PtB were always screwing her over (like the Elders in the Charmedverse *g*), and her reaction at the end is very believable.
Comments from author:
Thanks. After some of the reviews I got for this story, I really started to doubt writing it. She can be a bit whiny and selfish at times, but I just can't believe that she would willing be *that* uncaring without real good reason.

Review of chapter "Chapter 5: No Other Way" from espinosaca
Review:
I've just finished reading this and while I appreciate the concept the follow through is stretching it. The PTB do not have the power to decide the future, they can influence but they can't control how someone dies, as demonstrated with their little prophecy concerning the Master. They can probably envision possible futures but they cannot determine the future based on individual events. Based on most of Buffy's actions the real reason as I see it is nothing so noble as saving Giles but fear. Buffy, while she grows into a good slayer, is not a strategist. Nor does she take other people's emotions into account when making a decision. She does it constantly with Xander, Willow, Dawn, and Giles, and later on the SiTs. I applaud your attempt but I feel that Buffy is shallow and that while at times she'll act outside her own interests, she for the most part acts as she wants. She views slaying not as a duty but an inconvenience. Willow, Xander, Giles, and Dawn chose to do it; Buffy views it as an unwanted obligation. For that reason alone I feel any major decision she makes must be viewed from her own perspective as how it will help her first.
Comments from author:
I wasn't suggesting they could contol the future, they were just showing her what would happen - like a *visual* prophecy.

We happen to disagree on the character of Buffy. She gets to complain because she *can't* give it up like the others. Heck, even after death, she's dragged back into it. I don't see her as any more selfish than the rest of them; she's just called on it more often.

Review of chapter "Chapter 5: No Other Way" from CPTSkip
Review:
Very nice work. I liked your "discovery" of the logic behind Buffy's odd decision.
Comments from author:
Thanks. It just seemed too out of place to me.

Review of chapter "Chapter 3: Lives Touched by Angel" from Tanydwr
Review:
Intriguing concept.
Comments from author:
Assuming that's a compliment, thanks. Looking back, there might have been a better way to justify it though. Can't think of it off-hand, but...

Review of chapter "Chapter 1: Why Did She Do It?" from RocksandGlass
Review:
I think this is going to be interesting, particularly from the perspective of someone who doesn't like the pairing, it focuses purely on motivations that way. It's good so far, and I'm interested to see where you go from here.
Comments from author:
Yeah, the pairing squicks me, especially after Angelus' return. Seriously, once you've seen the bad that being together can cause, why dare to tempt fate again?

But I like the 'hero' of Buffy and wanted to tweak the character so she's better...not perfect mind you. We don't need another Superman or anything. This means seemingly irrational decisions are tainted by something we didn't see on the show.

I'd like her flaws to be acceptable or maybe the fault of someone else. (ie resurrection causing Spike-sexship. Again ewww! I liked the friendship but the violent icky sex stuff, uggh!)
