The originality of this pairing is quite delightful. Hodges is a terrific pairing! (Both stories of the series are a pleasure to read.)

But if I might say this (and don't be offended) you've got to be careful not to over-do it when writing songfics. Yes, the lyrics can set a lovely tone if used sparing - but they really become intrusive when sprinkled heavily through your narrative and actually take us out of the story, reminding us that it is just a story. It can really ruin the flow.

Your story is strong enough without it.

Not a pairing you see very often but I like it. And I have always felt that beneath Hodges sarcasm is a soft center. It's just adorable that Buffy brings it out. And who is Dawn's astropyshicist? Could that be the next story in the series?
