Review of chapter "Chapter Twenty-One: Aftermath III" from LetsRandom
Review:
I was rereading Part 3 and I wanted to leave my thoughts. The Doomsday/Aftermath arc is really well done. When comparing the writing from those arcs to your Part 1/2 the difference is noticeable in both plot/actual writing. The 1st half of Part 3 is less amazing I think, but overall your depiction of Buffy and Clark is one I thoroughly enjoy; hence the re-reading.

Review:
You’re definitely keeping up the standards you set in the last story, to say the least.

The idea of Lana being a vampire would have been a difficult enough issue to deal with, but the additional twist of Drusilla being her sire gave that confrontation an interesting personal touch for both sides (Even if neither of them LASTED that long when they actually went into action).

Add in Buffy’s trip to the future and her meeting with Doomsday and Dark Willow Mark 2- to say nothing of the news that we’ve got the Kryptonian Devil coming up at some future date-, and you’ve definitely come up with some interesting dramatic twists...

However, I’m REALLY not comfortable with the idea of the First being able to ‘transmute’ some aspect of Clark’s ring into red kryptonite like that. Its ability to plant doubt in Buffy’s minds is one thing as talking and influencing emotions was its main weapon back in the show, but that kind of power- no matter how minor- is defeating its central reason for wanting to tip the good/evil balance in the first place; it wanted to be able to influence the world ITSELF, whereas at present all it could was ‘encourage’ others to do its dirty work for it...

Review:
Ooh Ooh Ooh! They don't know what happened to Buffy! Clark understands he must die, ok, get that. But Buffy disappears. They just gave him a ring that will send him to the future! He gives it to Buffy in another year (probably because she's pregnant again and he doesn't want her killed) and wah-lah! Buffy appears in the future with Clark-baby and revives Clark to save the world!

*blinkblink*

Uh...sorry. Stupid imagination.

*grumblegrumble*

I don't know much about the facts behind Superman. Does he die in the comics? Can he be revived? WHY is it necessary that he dies in 12 years?

I love the update, but I wanna happy ending! *Waaaaaa!*

Great job so far, keep going!
Comments from author:
Nice suggestion. I'm afraid though i won't be giving away what happens.

Yes in the comics Superman did die at the hands of Doomsday but he also came back like comic book characters do so often. It is not necessary he dies in 12 years it is just from the Legion's POV what happened. It was in the comics a monumental event. A world without Superman in it so it became, in the terms i am using, a fixed point in time. Something that has to happen.

Everyone loves a happy ending but considering the position Clark and Buffy are in right now do not expect one any time soon.

Thanks for the review.

Wow, have to say I'm impressed with how dark and surprising you made Dawn be. Wonder if Karen knew. D**n Evil Willow for pulling a Khan at the last minute. Still holding out hope that even if it isn't Karen, Buffy and Clark will still be able to have kids.
Comments from author:
Dawn watched the world fall. That has to take some toll on her mental health. Did Karen know? In a world that has fallen into madness how do you notice one mad person so I'll say no.

Evil Willow. All i needed to complete it was William Shatner screaming Willow's name. Willlooooowwww!

Future kids...haven't decided yet what I'll write that far ahead yet. There is too much in-between for our heroes to deal with first.

Thanks for the review.

No! That just isn't fair! They have to choose between saving the world and having a child? Grr. Bad author's muse! Go figure out a way around this paradox!
Comments from author:
This may sound very cliched but life isn't fair and sometimes there is not some perfect happy ending. I'm giving Clark and Buffy a glimpse of it. Now whether they manage to figure out a way to avoid it is another issue. Since that would be a spoiler i won't say if they do or not. Thanks for the review.

Two tall kryptonians and one tiny slayer. Makes for a funny family image. Great chapter and I look forward to reading the next one.

How strange is it that Dark Willow is the scariest Big Bad? Must have something to do with her being their friend once upon a time. Gives the conflict of save her/kill her whereas there was no question of saving Brainiac or the Mayor; they simply needed to be destroyed.

Mommy Buffy! LOL. That is beyond funny.

Review:
Nice crossover with Smallville and Buffy. I do like the Clark and Buffy being a couple. The world tour they're going through is interesting and adding the parts of Season 8 interesting, add with the smallville things like the legion. and Dawn being the new slayer in the future (With Melaka Fray's looks in fact, are they merged or Dawn just decide to use Fray's style of dress?) I love to see what happens when Clark sees evil willow (I'm sure he's going to make her pay for what she did to Buffy showing her his future dead body) Things are slowly coming to a head.

Are you going to show Clark visiting Oz? I would love to see how Clark will get along with Oz and his family. This are cool great crossover. Keep it up
Comments from author:
Dawn's look; total coincidence to be like Fray's actually or i may have been subconsciously channeling it. Dawn is not actually the slayer in this future. What you will see her do relates to her awakening the power of the Key within her.

What happens when Clark meets evil Willow, who knows but remember magic and Clark don't mix. Things, though, are coming to a head...eventually.

I don't want to spoil it but you might be seeing future Oz quite soon. As for the original, in the present Oz, it would be some time yet as i have a few events for Clark, Buffy and co to work their way through before the story would lend itself open to that possibility due to Oz being in Tibet i believe it is.

Thanks for the review.

Oh yes indeed. Veiny Willow returns and the fate of the future will rest on whether the gang can stop her. Thanks for the review.

Review:
Ah jeez, aren't you going to let them have even ONE chapter to be relaxed? BTW, loved how you pointed out that both Clark and Buffy take responsibility for things that aren't their fault...very cool insight!
Comments from author:
Relax? Nope sorry. Not at the moment. Their mysterious foe is making their move hence Buffy vanishing. You'll soon see how everything from the scythe being stolen to their masked attacker is all connected to their new foe's scheming. Well i say new foe. It is actually an old foe of Buffy's making a comeback. I think that is enough of a hint for what is ahead. Thanks for the review.
