Review of chapter "Exercising Diplomacy" from Odin
Review:
I came to this story because it was featured on TTH's homepage today. I normally don't read shorter stories, but checked yours out. I just have to say that this is a great story. It made me laugh and the end made me cry. What more can you ask for from a story? Thanks for the gift.
Comments from author:
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) It was supposed to be one of my fluffy writing exercises stories, but it took a turn for the serious with the last chapter.

Review:
I love how just in a few sentences you conveyed the relationship between Mike and his Probie and how Gibbs would let a lot of things slide and do a lot for Mike - not his team - but that quick shift, showed a lot. I know I am not being coherent, but in short. I thought that it was great.

The ending was very fitting. For Gibbs, and the Scoobs as well, but the very ending was something that resonated quite well with his character. The entire thing was touching, quick and to the point but that only made it more fitting.
Comments from author:
Mike and Gibbs have the most awesome relationship! Gah, I love it.

Some thought the ending was too sad but that's NCIS and the Scoobs in a nutshell: they spend 3/4 the time making you laugh at or with them and the other 1/4 making you cry.

Review of chapter "Exercise Your Rights" from PrincessTai
Review:
>>> No, he didn’t need some kid with delusions of importance telling him off about it.

How wrong he is. Not that Gibbs isn't ever wrong. And not that I don't ADORE him so ever much: It's nice and surprising to him wrong so very sharply.
Comments from author:
This just isn't his world, right? He just doesn't know it.

Review:
That chapter just had me grinning in fangirly joy :-D

As a whole. Though the parent part totally made my heart squeeze. I like the clarification at the end, by Riley. Making it very aware that it wasn't that he couldn't, he just wouldn't. And I could just SEE Gibbs gazing and searching at Riley's face looking for a tell and a sigh.

I also love Ziva's random (not so random) comment. It was fitting and you could tell that she's recalculating, even if her gut might not say that he's innocent.
Comments from author:
I just wanted to see Xander sass Gibbs! I mean, he sasses Buffy and she could literally tear his arms off and beat him to death with them.

Riley is very aware and he feels no compunction to lie. And the parents part...it's just so true. And Gibbs...Gibbs is so confused. WHy must I always confuse the man?

She just wouldn't be used to it from American men. And she would actually think something of it. And probably think better of him, even if she became more wary of him.

Review:
Uggghhh. I do NOT like the image of Buffy or Giles losing the fight, although we know that is the likely outcome. Andrew is another story -- my own (unwritten) post-Chosen stories always give him an elsewhere to be. The candles on the water, however, were beautiful. I may steal it, if I ever publish. Even with the dozens (hundreds? thousands?) of Slayers in the world, it's a dangerous place. I suspect the average Slayer still dies before she's 25. It would be a good thing, to remember the fallen.
Comments from author:
Sometimes, they do, though. I like Andrew. Sometimes. I love that image and I've had it forever, of candles on water. It just fit this story so well. Realistically, it doesn't matter how many there are but how good they are. So memorials are important.

Review:
I've read this story before, but decided to give it another read tonight. I just thought I'd let you know that while this chapter is incredibly sad, it is also incredibly lovely.
(and I just realized where I got the idea for the name of one of my children slayers in my story. Shahar= Shahara... sorry)
Comments from author:
I'm glad it draws you back. There's just something about the image, thousands of candles on a lake with only the moonlight as another light source. It sticks with me, IDKY, and I wanted to share it.

(Is cool. These things happen.)

Review:
Beautiful ceremony. As a pagan myself, I appreciate the sentiment more than most.
Comments from author:
Thanks. I'm not a pagan but I figured that the Scoobs might lean that way instead of a more contemporary religion. And the image, regardless of religion, is beautiful. But, honestly, I just wanted a way for them to honor their dead.

I've just had that image forever, the lake covered in candles. It seemed to fit this story.
