Review of chapter "Jem Meets World" from spaceman
Review:
Another Great Chapter. The more you write, the better the story becomes.

Ideas
I wonder how Jem will react to a Badass Family? (grins)
I wonder how Jem will react to his favorite characters having lunch? (wider grin)
I wonder what will happen when Jem encounters characters that have no Fourth Wall? (evil grin)
Deadpool, of the Marvel Universe, has "Blasting down the fourth wall, brick by brick!" as his Catch Phrase
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NoFourthWall
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main.Deadpool
I wonder how many of those wall breakers are saying I told you so and maybe some of them know there in a Fanfiction.
Comments from author:
Thanks for the compliment. I wasn't sure that people would stay interested since the main characters are all OCs. As for the ideas;

1. I'll use the Badass Family idea if I can think of a suitable canditate (the only one springing to mind right now is the Zaraki clan and I'm not inflicting them on Jem, not even from a distance. After all, I don't want to give the poor sod a heart attack).

2. Will use, although I have to decide what Jem was into prior to his nap first (the character is being rather unco-operative in this department *sigh*)

3. Ooo, definitly going to try and use this one. I forsee Jem getting weirded out even more then normal and the boys not really caring. Although, forgive me if I'm being dense, but why would the fourth wall impaired be saying 'I told you so'?

I have no idea... but the pure insanity of the series implies it'll happen. I guarantee though, that if you ever get the chance to watch the anime called Baccano. There are two thieves in it that cause befuddled insanity wherever they go. They're always successful, but nobody can figure out why they stole what they did.

Review:
Nice Chapter. Keep it Up!
Idea: Jem needs something more than Hospital Food, so send him to a fast food place. It would be fun to see a talking Chihuahua taking orders at Taco Bell or one of cat-girl waitresses at the cafe doing something to a customer that would be questionable in the '90s.
Comments from author:
Good idea. I doubt that he'd end up eating much given that he still doesn't really feel like it, but given that he's noticably underweight and his guides/bodyguards/keepers are active teenage boys (and therefore usually hungery) him getting dragged to a fast food place would probably be inevitable. *grin* The next chapter will probably take longer then the ones so far though since I seem to have hit a bit of a wall. *sigh*

Review:
Yep. Definitely time to Fake It 'Til You Make It, Jem. Avoid memory-mods at all costs! *G* (Personally, I'd rather face down an Alien than have someone mess with mine.)

As for suggestions for who to meet, listed in increasing order of scream-and-run....

Jedi Master Tholme (various Star Wars graphic novels), instructing a few older teenagers in sneaking.

Yuya Shiina (Samurai Deeper Kyo) dragging in a _relatively_ harmless bounty. She's very good with ropes, and a fair shot with her 3-barreled gun.

Agatha Heterodyne (Girl Genius). With a crescent wrench. On _coffee._

Nice to see Jem's finally getting out in the world. I look forward to seeing how he does with all the people and how much everything's changed.
Comments from author:
I have a feeling that the answer is probably going to be 'badly'. Just how badly I haven't decided yet.

If you're going for light-hearted for awhile, squabbles between random groups of duplicates/variations from different series.
Comments from author:
I'm actually using this one, although deciding on a particular character is proving difficult (the price I pay for liking obscure stuff). Any suggestions? *hopeful grin*

Stuff that Jem could encounter:

=A young dragon (D&D) for Jem to have as a familiar/companion.

=Rejects that have escaped a Mad Scientist's laboratory and aimlessly wander the lands, preferably Female: cyborgs, mutants, whatever, created using bits and pieces of knowledge taken from difference series. If Female, possible romantic interest.

=Since magic is so commonplace, it's possible that Jem could run into someone who has been turned into an animal or animated object by a witch.

=The forbidden love-child of two fictional characters. Examples: the daughter of the Wicked Witch and the Incredible Hulk; son of RainbowBright and one of the Ninja Turtles TMNT; etc.

=Swamp Thing. Might sense that Jem is "untainted" and give him an elemental blessing of some sorts.

=Someone cursed to be perpertually reincarnated. Such a character existed in "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" who is constantly being killed by an oblivious Arthur Dent.
Comments from author:
Hmm, I might use a few of those further down the line, at the moment he's still a bit too jittery for the first two and I'll have to put a fair bit of thought into how to pull off the others as I don't have Spaceman's knack for randomness.

Review:
Ah, the human ability to adjust to darn near anything, under duress. Fun to watch!
Comments from author:
Well, in Enzo's case he didn't really have to adjust, he was born after the Event so to him it's just the way things are. Jem on the other hand is going to need some time to get used to the idea.

Another Good Chapter. Keep it up!

Another Idea. Coffee Shop, Inspired by the one in Chapters book store. Jem is having a cup of tea/coffee and overhears a few conversations by an odd groups and couples. Examples of Five Man Group, Our Monsters are Different, or other trope.

Another Idea. Jem is introduced to different type of the new humanity Odd ball versions.
Mutants/Metahumans = Summoners = Ninja = Shinigami/Soul Reapers = Fighter/Martial Artists = Yokai = Mad Scientists

Another great chapter! I particularly liked your survival guide list!
Comments from author:
Thanks. The survival guide thing was originally Vathara's idea (see; Halloween World: Emerald Hope's Bulletin Board), I just did my own take on it.

Review of chapter "A Different Perspective" from (Current Donor)Shieldage
Review:
It's a hospital. Culture shock over someone else's pregnancy might be in order. Maybe because the mom appears completely human and the dad... looks like a six-foot tall Godzilla? Maybe there's a rush of concerned nurses and doctors to the ER because a taxi cab has just gone into labor? Heh

Another Good Chapter.
I wonder how Jem will react to Shinigami and the other incarnations of death?
I wonder how he will react to the layers of the Otherworld?
Heaven=Pantheon=Spirit World/Soul Society=Hueco Mundo=Makai/Demon World=Netherworld/Hell
Comments from author:
It'll probably be another 'what the hell' moment. I'll bring it up in the next chapter.

Really awesome chapters you've started! I look forward to the next one!

Just wondering, could all of Jem's friends be dead, or could some of them still be alive, or better yet... Could Jem find some characters who are the ones who replaced his friends on Halloween?
Comments from author:
Honestly I haven't thought that far ahead yet. The next chapter will probably just be Jem dipping his toes in the sea of weird that is the Halloween verse and for now I'm approaching this thing one chapter at a time.

Review of chapter "HBSD" from misterq
Review:
Nice! But I wonder if the chaos magic passed Jem by or did it leave a small effect. There have been characters known for being asleep - King Arthur, Rip van Winkle, etc.. Dormant sleeping beings which great power (which may take time to fully come to effect), and so on. Also, I wonder which former fictions Jem liked in his old life - and what he would do when he actually saw the characters from there eunning around. Also, a Knight Rider car (KITT) that turns into a transformer robot would be cool.
Comments from author:
Hmm. I have to admit, I haven't really thought about that (the story has only just been upgraded from a one-shot after all). I like the idea of Jem seeing characters from works that he liked though so I'll probably use it, although it might take a chapter or so (given his current mental state, it'll probably take a while for Jem to leave his room). Thanks for suggesting it
