Review of chapter "For the Usual Fee, Plus Expenses" from Starfox
Very entertaining story, and a good fit of an underused HP character. Intersting couple too.

Review of chapter "For the Usual Fee, Plus Expenses" from AnFan
Great story. I had to look over the many you've put up, given how happy I was with your latest. Not many caught my eye, but then again, I'm pretty picky.
I also don't even own a TV right now, so many of the crossovers don't hit anything I know or care about. I find that because I'm removed from the daily injection of the idiocy that is pumped out by the media conglomerates, that if I try to watch a show now on Netflix, they appear too esoteric, boring, or even downright insulting for me to sit through more than 3 min. (sorry for the rant, almost deleted it but... anyway)
Now to actually comment on your story.
As for your comment about Bill marrying Fluer in the first chapter, my guess would be Molly :) She would even feel vindicated by the environment you've portrayed in your story.
I love how you've integrated the two stories. You did a great job of keeping the characters interesting and believable. Even the changes you made to HP cannon didn't really feel jarring, unlike many of the stories out there now (I mean really, come on, Harry and Draco? really? and that is not even the largest stretch I've seen descriptions of!).
You've also kept a nice tight continuity with the elements in the story. You didn't throw too many extraneous people or elements at us, and kept the people to the necessary ones to tell the story. The only thing I could say that I was disappointed with at all, is that it's too short. I would have enjoyed a lot more of the story involving the main characters here. Very engaging.

Review of chapter "For the Usual Fee, Plus Expenses" from Downery
Great idea poor follow through. Wasn't a bad fic at all but way to cheesy and the dialogue felt like an episode of Dawson's Creek where teenagers try to act like great philosophers of life.
If you made it a little more gritty and realistic it'll would've been great.

Great crossover. I'm glad someone finally sorted out the Ministry jokers. I get annoyed when authors continue along with business-as-usual in the HP world when it bumps up against BtVS. This was much more satisfying, plus good characterization of the main characters and nice interaction with the minor characters.

Review of chapter "You Meet All Sorts, In This Line Of Work" from Fyrecat
This is a fun story. As you mentioned in the prologue, I don't think that I have seen this pairing before either. Well done.
I am enjoying your excellent characterizations and character development. The story line is interesting and engaging.
The only two real criticisms I can mention are technical:
1) The poor use of punctuation; questions should have a "?", statements a "." and exclamations a "!". instead, you have ended all dialogue with a "," which is almost universally inappropriate.
2) Learn the difference between "to", "too" and "two". You consistently use "to" where it does not belong.
Other than that, the grammar and spelling are blessedly accurate, and overall, it is a very fun story to read.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful imagination with us all!

Review of chapter "The Game Commences" from jimk
Overall the story is good and entertaining to read. It is fairly implausible that the wizarding world would know nothing of other forms of magic and slayers but as long as you can ignore that then it's a decent read. Most crossovers of this type take I think a more realistic approach and have them or a least the senior people know of Wiccan magic and usually everyone knows of slayers but not necessarily the activation. I think that is a more plausible approach than expecting a magic community to not know about other forms of magic and considering they are based in London it pretty hard to swallow that they would not know about or be protected against demons and such.
One minor point also is that in the intro to the first chapter it states it is canon except for Bill and Fleur not being married. The is quite incorrect. People act differently and not at all that of people who had been under Voldemort's reign of terror but rather people who had survived a fairly minor spat of no major significance. Major people that are dead such as Amelia Bones are still around and very significant people such as Shacklebolt who was minister are in different jobs. It is actually a significantly AU version of HP. Nothing wrong with that at all but to say it follows canon seems silly.
Comments from author:
Actually I find it very plausible that a rabidly insular society that has no knowledge of television, movies, proper clothing and electricity would be utterly ignorant of such things as other forms of magic, slayers, etc. The Wizarding world was portrayed as being concerned only with thier narrow world view and disdainful of anything that fell outsied of that. As to the second part of your review, I was refering to the different interpersonal relationships rather than who was in charge of what and when. Frankly I was so disgusted with the last book that I mostly skimmed it to the point that I didn't know (or care) that Amelia Bones was dead. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read and review my story. I appreciate your point of view, even if I disagree with it.

Nice story, I think Fleur and Xander would be good for each other. I'm not too surprised at your ending, some nasty people met a nasty end but they probably deserved it. Some people never learn.

Review of chapter "It's a Mystery to Me" from vitruvian
Not a bad story, although you do fail to note one additional departure from canon... the timeline. The events of Deathly Hallows wrap up in 1998 according to Rowling, which means before most of Buffy's Sunnydale career unless you shove all of BtVS back ten to twelve years. Which, considering the movie came out in 1992 and Whedon probably needed some time to write down the events of Buffy's encounter with Lothos and have it made into a very inaccurate movie...

I loved this story; I thought it was a fascinating way to combine the two worlds. I especially liked your view of magic, with the 5 different kinds of magic. Great work!

Not bad. I like the well-chosen Dire Straits quotes. Writing fight scenes is obviously not one of your skills, unfortunately, and the final fight was horribly unrealistic. It weakened the entire story.
I've voted for this story in the COAs; not because I think it's really of award-winning quality but simply because it's better than any of the alternatives in the Harry Potter category.
