Review of chapter "Cover Art" from (Current Donor)JanessaRavenwood

Need...MORE...stories...here! :-)

How is the next story coming along?
Comments from author:
It's sitting in my 'get back to this' pile and staring at me accusingly. But I've been struggling to write anything for months, partly due to focusing on the completion of my thesis, and partly because I lost my dearly beloved to a heart attack and have been coping with all the fallout of that ...

I haven't forgotten, and this hasn't been abandoned, it's just ... waiting for me to sort out all the real life stuff and get my head in order again. Which is starting to happen, but I'm not making promises on timescales. Not yet, at any rate.

You'll just have to be patient a little longer ... :-)

So how is the thesis going? or has your muse deserted you on this series.

EDIT: LOL; Good work on the thesis, yes I understand about the muse, they are like cats.
While I never had the discipline to write, I do DM (don't really have the discipline for that either but I manage) which is sufficiently related for me to appreciate the nature of muses.
Comments from author:
The thesis is up to 90,000 words and in edit/review mode - I'm hoping to submit before Easter (fingers crossed!)

The muse has not deserted me on this - I have pages of notes for the combat sequence I finally managed to play out for the next chapter - but it needs focus and concentration, and I've been deliberately keeping it at low simmer while I broke the back of the academic work. Most of what I've been posting lately had already been written - although the newest thing is a perfect example of what happens when you keep telling the muse 'we can't work on this, we're supposed to be doing something else.'

She wanders off and wanders back with ... something else! :-)

I just reread this series. It's terrific. The characterizations are wonderfully nuanced, and the imagery has such richness. I hope your muse leads you back here.

Hi, just thought I'd see if your muses had wandered over in the direction of this story lately?

I still think it is one of the most original and well written series I've read and would love to see more sometime, if you ever get the urge to continue.

Thanks for sharing.

My muses are drowning in the depths of my thesis at the moment - but I have kept them thinking about this ... for one thing, I now know who my major villain is, what he's plotting and how that fits with the Ogre invasion ... and I've discovered dwarven opera, which is *serious* rock music ... *g*

So not abandoned by any manner of means - but somewhat on the shelf while I work on the 80,000 words needed to complete my Doctorate!

I will try and get the character sheets added to the appendices though. I have those - I just haven't figured out how best to format them for TTtH yet ...

This is a lovely piece of artwork
Comments from author:
Thanks - this is the Bronze Dragon (I think from the 3rd Edition MM) that sort of inspired this whole idea. So I can't lay claim to his design, alas - but I had fun finding all the other bits to go with him!
