I am not a fan of a new Kirk/Uhura pairing. Uhura is the only woman to love love Spock for all he is, all the rest of his ladies have wanted him to change for them. Spock obviously loves her, and he treats her like it. They deserve each other.

Lovely to see Spock and Uhura just 'hanging out' and playing a bit of dignified footsie under the table, and Uhura's insights about Kirk's character (and the role she's decided to take on in helping to keep him from becoming entirely insufferable) were delightfully spot-on!
