I am beyond in love with this story...it's on my recs list as of this moment...btw, if you'd like another great book to read about the Masonic symbols/protection in and around DC, I truly, truly recommend Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol- deals heavily and in great depth and detail with the Masons and all they did to protect DC.

The Lost Symbol is one of those books that has been sitting on the shelf for awhile now, but that I've neglected reading. Sounds like there are some parallels there, though, so it might be time to give it another shot. Thanks for the rec!

poor buffy having abby lash out is like a flash back to when everyone turned against her. hmm interesting buffy/mcgee that could be another reason why abby is pissy out of jealousy.

What..hold on...i think I missed something here, because i thought that buffy is trying to set tim and abby together and now buffy and tim...I'm a bit confused...i don't know if buffy and tim chemistry really fits...it just seem kind of off somehow...I don't know... i guess I'll wait and see and hopefully you'll make me a believer..

Glad to see RL is letting you update again. :) In reading this chapters I realized how much I had forgotten or missed from the previous two chapters because the McGee/Buffy thing took me by suprise. Reread the last two chapters and realized somehow I missed the kiss. lol

I will be interested to see where you go with that because it is not a pairing I can imagine. Although this season's McGee maybe a bit more. But that's not to say you can't make it happen here.

I am a little confused on the Drusilla situation and where Spike plays in. This may just be due to time between reading chapters. In this story where is Spike now - LA with Angel, dusted after NFA, in the comic world? I forgot what direction you took. A refresher would be appreciated!! :)

While I think overall you've done a great job with the characters and dialogue, I do feel like some of the Buffy-speak and past references have become a bit much. Sometimes I feel a little lost and not really sure what they (particularly Buffy) is talking about or referring to. Maybe it's just me, but I wanted to mention it.

In my world (because I haven't been reading the comics and thus am ignorant to that side of 'canon'), Spike took off after NFA and is now somewhere in the world, doing something he never would have expected when he first came to Sunnydale. Sorry to be vague, but you'll find out exactly where and what in the next few chapters.

Point taken about the references - I'll try to dial back on it a little, or at least make it clearer what's going on. Let me know if there's anything specific you want clarified or explained and I'll do my best.

Yay for an update! Welcome back - hope you had a marvelous holiday season and the new year is starting off in a spectacular way for you.

Still a great story, loving the strengthening of the friendship between Buffy and Ziva, not to mention their version of girl talk. Beautifully in character. I particularly loved Buffy's line about Abby channeling her 'inner finger-pointer', a very Buffy comment. I like the idea of Tim and Buffy. He'd definitely treat her well, but it will be interesting to see how/if things progress given the working environment.

Loved Buffy's line to Ducky regarding cloning by Merchant Ivory, another great line and what a picture it paints: rows and rows of clucking, eyeglass polishing Englishman. I like Giles' attempt to talk to Buffy and letting her escape with her diversionary tactics.

Can't wait to find out what/who's watching them and what the fallout from patrol is going to be. Glad to see you back! :)

Awwww... lovely. Really nice to see Buffy having one of those personal conversations at last, and showing just how well she and Ziva are getting on together now. I doubt any of the Scoobies would have been allowed to say anything near those points before Buffy shut them up somehow, but I like how she lets Ziva. The first few steps on her path to mending.
