I'm kinda sad that this is over. I really like how you are making Xander think. I'm looking forward to the next story. How long do you think it will be before you post the first chapter?

I'm glad you liked this fic! I hate to say it, but it will be a little while before I start the next story in this series. I'm 11 chapters in another fic and going strong. But I'll try not to take too long... Thanks for the review!

Ai! Thanks for lighting a fire under me. I've been working on the next chapter, I swear, just really slowly. I should have something up soonish...

Review of chapter "Becoming what?" from Greywizard
Review:
Very nice story you've got going here.
Edward is the person I respect most in the Blake-verse, primarily because he doesn't have any illusions about who he is, what he does or the reasons for why he does what he does. Anita has most definitely become one of the monsters she formerly fought, although she's refused to acknowledge that fact while also justifying everything she's done with the excuse of necessity.
I can't see Edward being very easy for Xander or anyone else to locate, simply for the reason that it would also make it easy for his enemies/prey to find him and eliminate him.
I can, however, see Edward having gone to the trouble of bugging Willy's bar without the slimeball being aware of it, in order to have a simple and fairly reliable intelligence source for what's going on at the Hellmouth, and hearing someone ask for him by name would certainly spark Edward's interest. I really can't see many, if any, demons thinking of checking the place out for any kind of electronic surveillance, although they would probably check for mystical scrying devices.
I suspect that Xander is going to remain much more covert in his actions with regard to dealing with demons and the towns nightlife, since I can't see Buffy at this point in her life accepting that he's got any real skills to deal with the things that go bite in the night.
I also think that Willow's acceptance of the Buffy-Angel debacle had more to do with her ensuring that Xander's potential romantic interest in Buffy had no hope of blossoming than with any real belief that such a joke had any chance of ever becoming more than a tragedy.
Looking forward to seeing what's coming next.
Good job.

Wow! Thanks for the review!
Yes, Edward is going to be very difficult to locate, especially for a high school student. And I agree, if Xander asks around enough, he's bound to draw attention, and not necessarily the good kind.
Xander and Edward are both pretty straightforward guys, which is why I think they'd get along. Not to mention that they both have no love for demons/vampires at this point. How Xander reacts to Edward's cold-bloodedness, though... that remains to be seen.

An interesting view of Xander's thoughts, well done.

Thank you! I'm trying to make a logical progression of why Xander would eventually turn to Edward. I'm glad it made sense to more than just me. :)

Huh, would have been interesting if it skipped more than a couple years rather than just to season 3 say maybe after season 7. Ah well be interesting to see where you take this.
Comments from author:
It's like you read my mind! When I first thought of this fic, I only envisioned it through Season 3. I've changed my mind, though, and will take it way past that... I just forgot to change it in the disclaimer!
I will be going to Season 3, though. There's a method to my madness... Thanks for the review! :)
