Review:
An excellent and unique story. Spike was very well written. “Good, evil, who gives a toss?” about sums up his personality.

Aardvark Investigations? That should clear up confusion about the logo :D
Comments from author:
Indeed. And obscure South African animals are very popular right now; ideally they'll get a case involving Meerkats.

Review:
I absolutely loved this! I've never really seriously considered this pairing before but I stumbled across the story and decided to give it a try. Let me say I am so glad I did. The story was so funny I especially loved the part with the monks at the end. I did find it a little hard to believe the spike/cordelia flirting bits at times but even still it was very good.

My only real complaint was that even though it was extraordinarily long for a one-shot it ended too soon. I would love to see this continued in some way.

Amazing Job!
Comments from author:
Thank you! I'm afraid that I've no intention of continuing it; I don't think I could keep up the funny indefinitely. I've written several alternate Season 5 stories already and I don't think I could do yet another without re-using ideas.

Glad you liked it.

Review:
Delightful!

Cordy seemed to be awfully well-informed about things that the Scoobies in canon season 3 didn't discover until much later, but who cares? Spike doing the "For a Fistful of Dollars" man with no name schtick with the poncho and armor and the mule line, and then hooking up with Cordy, is just too much fun.

[Update: I'll have to re-watch "Band Candy", but I thought I remembered that we, the audience, knew the Mayor was working through Mr. Trick, but that the Mayor kept well out of sight as far as the Scoobies' part of the story was concerned (leaving the scene of the 'tribute' in the sewers without being seen as soon as Buffy & Co. showed up to rescue the babies). I was thinking that it wasn't until after the events in "Bad Girls" (5 episodes after "The Wish") that the Scoobies really began to suspect that the Mayor might be more than just a slimy politician, when the killing of the Deputy Mayor by Faith and Balthazar's dying words about 'when he rises' start to direct their attention to the Mayor's Office. After all, nobody reacted with excessive suspicion when Mayor Wilkins wanted to address Joyce's concerned community group in "Gingerbread", and that was two episodes after "The Wish".]
Comments from author:
Thank you!

Buffy discovered that the Mayor was evil in 'Band Candy', two episodes before Cordelia's break-up with Xander in 'Lovers Walk', although there was no on-screen Scooby discussion of the Mayor until after 'The Wish'. I assumed that Cordy would have been told about the Mayor's evilness, at least, and I took care to specify that Giles and Dalton had done a lot of additional research to find out more before the White Hats took action.

I really liked your originality. It always ticked me off that the hole thing was caused by Cordelia and then she gets there and almost immediately gets offed. Thank you for sharing.

"Aardvark Investigations" - I am SO glad I wasn't drinking anything when I was reading this...

Totally Awesome! Too bad it was a (good-sized) one-shot, but I think you've wrapped things up fairly well at the end.
Comments from author:
Thank you!

I agree that things are wrapped up too well for a sequel, unless I did a complete rehash of Season 5 and I've already done that more than once, but I've just posted a little ficlet that is an alternative ending for the story.

Review:
This was one of the best Wishverse stories I've ever had the pleasure of reading. And it was terrifically funny. I was very glad I wasn't drinking when I read: “Angel’s lame,” Buffy announced. “I know,” Spike replied. “His hair goes straight up, and he’s bloody stupid. Total pillock sometimes. But he’s family.” Lol!

And the thought of Harm being Angel's girlfriend just made me giggle. But I had to stop reading for a moment to collect my sanity after I read Angel's PI agency is going to be called Aardvark Investigations.

The only bummer about your version of the Wishverse, well other than killing Willow and Xander, was by NOT killing Buffy Faith won't be Called. Sigh. Like I wrote earlier, wonderful, wonderful job. I could force myself to read a continuation if you wrote it. Lol!
Comments from author:
Thanks for the great review!

I've just posted a story that is a continuation in one sense; it's an alternative ending, though, rather than a sequel.

Oh bloody hell that was a good twist on the "Wish" EP. As always your writing really captures the unique flavor of the Buffy universe. Especially the humor!

I really enjoyed that. Spike and Cordelia make a good pair - they're both blunt and sarcastic. Lots of passion there! Love that Dawn got sent to them instead of Buffy.

Review:
Unapologetically Cordy and Spike...love it! The de-Jossing of Sunnydale was good, but the retelling of the Key bit was great. It's rare to see a Wishverse fic that is well-crafted and ends on an upbeat note, but you managed to pull it off.

Lovely treat to come across a new story that's not only highly entertaining but also finished! Liked the concept and character voices too :)

On the other hand, get back to more Tabula Avatar! I needs my fix!
Comments from author:
Thank you!

I'm afraid the continuation of 'Tabula Avatar' will be delayed for a while until I work my current 'Stargate: SG1' obsession out of my system. Probably 2 weeks or so.
