And of course if he does turn out to be Alex, he's probably lying low somewhere to keep a paradox from occuring and not actually dead.

In the show Alex helped out from behind the scenes and even made a trip back in time to take up the role of Red Ranger briefly. I would have had Alex/Xander play a similar behind the scenes role.

I liked this. Interesting how you substituted Xander for Wes. If you had made this a longer more detailed story, would Eric have been in it? It would've been neat to see how Eric and Xander interacted and how it differed from Eric's interactions with Wes on the show.

Glad you liked it. If I had made a longer story it would have been a toss up between using Eric or replacing him with Riley. It definitely would have been a more friendly relationship with Riley. With Eric I would have had him and Xander have a personality clash.
