Review of chapter "Time to Be Strong" from Gideon
Now that was a harsh Buffy! Definitely worthy of the old council :(

That is making her own choise? If she didn't change her mind would they send someone else? I think the previous Watcher's Counsil was on higher moral ground than this. They had better pray that one of the girl's doesn't find out what they did or one of their own Slayers might take out the headquarters next time.

Those are very interesting questions, ones that would have been explored down the line if this was more than a one-shot, really. I don't agree with the previous Watcher's Council having higher moral ground. Please e-mail me if you would like the citations of canon in the show that I find particularly troubling about The Watcher's Council's morality--or lack thereof.

Of course, a you-know-what storm would erupt if the Slayers found out. That's why it's a secret, but no secret can be kept forever, so it would have been fun to see how it played out, but I have so many other fics that are open right now that I can't really add more to my plate.

Thank you for reading & reviewing...

I think you did a great job with the story. I thought the characterization not only fit with Buffy world but also with the Red Eye world. Buffy would want all the girls to be trained and able to defend not only themselves but others. If Lisa takes herself out of the fight it is selfish. Because the others may not have the skills and talent she has. A battle can be won or lost based on the tools at your disposal. "The art of war is simple enough. Find where your enemy is. Get at him as fast as you can with your best soldiers and weapons. Strike hard and keep moving." Ulysses S. Grant

Thank you for the support. I know we talked at length about the questionable actions of The Watcher's Council during the course of the show, before they were annihilated, and that it was possible that some of the watchers survived, especially if they were the special ops team sent after Faith. This was an experiment based on those agents and how their task might have been modified under the new Council regime under extreme circumstances. What changed, what didn't, and what might have been ressurected for the greater good...

ridiculous and completely out of character for Buffy. THere is absolutely no reason she'd do that.

So, no there is no reason to continue it.

I respectfully disagree, but also respect your right to your opinion.

If you want to have a dialogue about why I disagree, including several points of canon in the show and the Season 8 comic book series, please feel free to e-mail me. I was going to list them here, but was concerned that I would "spoil" the comic book series for anyone who hadn't read it yet.

Otherwise, I hope we can agree to disagree. Thank you for your feedback.

Quentin Travers would be proud of Buffy. She's become a worthy successor to the Old Council. {icky-squick}
Comments from author:
That's what I thought - that adage of "absolute power corrupts absolutely" came to mind. Most people write Buffy as a static character--always the heroine--but I wondered what might happen if she wasn't. But, some people disagree with the possibility of that happening. Personally, I would wonder what had happened to Buffy in the years since taking over The Council that made her decide to go this route...

Thank you for reading & reviewing.
